have any of you ever really sat down and thought about how blind love really is? I watched little black book last night (good movie) and the thing that struck me about it was her boyfriend was still in love with his ex and his ex was still in love with him and they couldn't be together, but couldn't be apart, they were *friends*. It broke my heart to see that scene in the movie where both the boyfriend and the ex realize they should be together, because you get the impression that they won't. I know I am babbling here - but I am just trying to figure out, when love is so blind, how to do you let go and move on with your life?

I have not seen that movie, but while reading your post, it struck a chord inside of me. I am still certain of who I want to be with in my life. I am fairly stable, but have had to let go. I believe this other person liked me, perhaps a lot, but because of issues, or expectations: one for him was finding someone who made as much money as he did to help support retirement...I am not one of those people, etc. but we could not get it together. It makes no sense, I would love to go back and try again, but I won't be the first to say so. So it really is strange how some things work out. So yes I have been there. I think love is blind in that we can love someone in spite of their faults, but to ignore their faults to where it may hurt us, is not very smart to do.

thanks on my way - you are so right when you say "to ignore their faults to where it may hurt us, is not very smart to do". Thanks for the reminder!

Dear On My Way - thanks for that line also. That's exactly what I have been doing, ignoring all his faults and shortcomings and let him use me, so now I'm crying, he's gone, and you're right, it hurts, but time will get me over him. I won't ignore warning signs again, tho, so I guess that's what I have learned from that. Trying to trust God instead now.
Take care Marley
