I am going to be going and moving to NY soon. But on top of trying to graduate and trying to finish finals, well, as many of you may remember there was a woman who accused me of rear ending her and then fleeing the scene of the accident. The case was dismissed by the state (the state were the ones who brought charges up against me) when they discovered I was in italy on the day of the accident and my car was parked in the driveway the whole time. Now the woman is personally pressing charges and i have to go to insurance court or something because they are trying to catch her in the scam. Fortunately my lawyer was so pissed he said that he would wave any legal fees to help me out. I hate this.

That sucks. Sometimes I just don't understand people. Today I saw something on identity theft. What people go through- their lives completely turned upside down. Why do people assume they are robbing people who have easy lives? Why do they do it at all? Unreal.
At least your lawyer sounds like he is the decent type. Maybe he will balance out what that woman is trying to do to you. She obviously has some sort of agenda or is completely ignorant. I hope it works out for you.
Italy huh? I love it. Going in November. Any plans to go back?

Ella, yes, venice to be exact and then on to florence. I am hoping that it all works out and that I don't end up having to spend too much more time in court. My lawyer said that he thought it would just be that one time and then I wouldn't have to go anymore. As far as poeple doing this, I know that I am fortunate to have what I have but it sucks that some people have to take advantage of me just because they think that I don't know what i have. my question is how can you make that assumption of someone when you don't even know them.

NO WAY!!! I'm going to Venice too! But only Venice, which is amazing enough. I've never been to Florence. Only Rome, Napoli, Pompeii. I want to go to where my ancestors came from, but that will take a lot of research.
You are right about assumptions. Material things are one thing, but people don't know about your life or what you have been through or what you are going through. I guess they are wrapped up in what ever is driving them to be dishonest. Most likely that woman is a miserable person. What well adjusted person wouldn't take the time to find out if they were suing the right person or not? So sorry for your experience. YOu have a nice trip to look forward to though.

yes and I am happy about that. I wish I didn't have this horrible cold though. My head feels like its about to explode and I am just really achy. My ex has spent some time with me though to help take care of me which is so nice. But I just have no clue what is wrong with this woman and I don't want to be in court if I am sick. ITs just not a good time.
