If the mutual admiration and respect is there, as well as the caring and relating to one another...but the warm fuzzies and the electricity in our kisses or touch are either rare or gone? Is it still love? Can it still last forever?

I am in a similar situation as nn. I have been involved with someone who says he loves me, but then he says he needs the sparks, etc. and does not know if he wants to marry me - should I continue to give him my heart and love?

clc, I encountered similar situation like you. I don't know if I should give up or not. People keep telling me to forget him. Saying that there will be someone that truely wants me, I should love the one who love me instead of always thinking of the past.....but I don't know. 'coz I think it is not easy to love somebody too.

love is mutual feelings which contain respect, caring and other insictual feelinf such as kisses..
and when you feel like crying you need the one you love to comfort you.and when you are weak you need the one you love to lean on...love is a magic and we can noe decribe in few words.
And thank you..
With lots of love

LOVE IS A FEELING THAT LIFTS MOOD TO A LEVEL OF EXPERIENCING A SPECIAL SENSATION. THE THOUGHT OF THAT U LOVE WILL IMMEADIATELY WILL SPRING THIS SPECIAL SENSATION AND SO IT IS CALLED LOVE.

Love...read recently that love isn't truly an emotion. We all get tangled in the media Hollywood version of love and forget about loyalty...trust ...etc..
Love is....committment? It's really whatever you make of it... the love we marry for is not necessarily the love that is here after 25 -30 -50 years.

Love is lots more than sparks and electricity..I'd say those are really physical chemistry orlust..love is what stays when that is gone.

And LOVE is so overused... Esp. when you think we can say IloveYou and I love bagels in the same breath.

love definitely has to be everlasting, because otherwise it wouldn't be love.

Love is something that grows upon people with time. It is the ultimate experience that one can have, if it is true love.

I think if the respect, etc. is still there, you definitely love this person, but if the sparks are not, then, you are not IN LOVE with him. There is a difference between being in love and loving. I really don't think it will last very much longer, but i wish you the best.

Interesting debate. I have learned through alot of reading and couseling that one, love only develops over time. The myth that love can be at first sight is just that, a myth. Nothing more. However, 99% of the folks out there believe in this stuff...like Janes says, Hollywood.

Janes mentioned a great web-site...
http://www.drirene.com. Very good stuff. There are different items to choose from, try the love vs. infatuation. I have seen many such articles before, and whole heartedly believe they are right.

Think about it folks. Read it and think about it. I am willing to bet it will ring true for all of you. WHy do you think they sell so many movie tickets? Really! They don't make movies about everyday events and people. They make they about fantasy. Things we don't have, and will never have, at least in the condition most of us are in.

Its a fantasy folks, unless you get into your recovery, and figure out why you keep fucking up over and over. The same shit, at every job, or every friendship, or EVERY RELATIONSHIP, etc.
