hopeful,

I just checked in her this morning before running out the door to a busy day and evening. Tired as heck, and getting over some viral thing. Then I saw the word "gratitute." I am going to write that word out in big letters and put it on the seat next to mine in the car. Past all the stuff I have to do today, I really want to remember that there is so much to be grateful for. And, I am grateful to be able to talk about this here.

Have a grateful day!!

So, today, with gratitude, the day is turning out much better than I ever expected!!! There was an unexpected assembly at school, so that means I do not have to meet with kids this afternoon, and can leave school a little early. I was supposed to get together with someone this evening, really did not want to, but did not want to cancel. He ended up calling me and rescheduling for another evening. I am reminded of the idea: the universe does not give you more than you can handle. I did not have to do anything but approach this day with openess and gratitude and things I had to do today just disappeared from my schedule without my having to do anytning. I really need to rest. This is so perfect.

When we have grown up a certain way with negative beliefs, it becomes ingrained so catching ourselves with these defeating behaviors is a must. My whole family has started participating. Its awesome.

I still can't wait till my dvd get's here. And while I am recovering from surgery I am going to build my vision board, and I am going to ask my children to build one as well.

Now knowing we can get exactly what we want in life, we need to be specific in our orders, and I want o ask for exactly what I want 🙂

You know - I think that it would be absolutely AWESOME if the authors of "The Secret" would follow up with another book citing the changes which occured by various people.

I know Oprah had another show based on the incredible response (almost sent her collasal system to it's knees) beacuse of all the response to the original show - which aired about a week later from that initial show.

Now THAT's something else that I would be interested in reading - you know?

Fuel for the "law of attraction" fire!!!!!

hopeful,

When is surgery?

And, it think it is awesome that you are getting your children involved with the vision board. What a gift to children.... to expose them to The Secret.

I have six more days..the ninth is the day.

I think we could write our own book about the change it makes, right.

hopeful,

I think all of us here could write a very interesting book.

Next Friday! That'll be here before you know. When I opened this thread all your info about the surgery and being a lot of pills popped up. Envisioning what it is going to be like can be very helpful. I am doing a lot of this today, because I have big changes in my life already and trying to keep myself on track.
I eight minutes I have to start doing something else.

Last night I met with my book study friends. We've been studying another similar book called: The Power of the Now. It is teaching me to be in the present as well, even though I am excited about the future. Its also an interesting book because he talks about how people can get so identified with their pain (physical and emotional pain), that it becomes so much of their identity. I would think that it would be easy to slip into something like that with back pain. I've had back pain a few times in my life.

But, I did have surgery for fibroids and that was only after a lot of self-examination about what these fibroids were about for me. Fibroids were an absolute energy drain because I was bleeding so much of the time. At that time in my life, I was paticipating in so much stuff in life that I did not want to do back then (job was draining me, I felt trapped in other situations, afraid of asserting myself for the future, much lack of confidence then), I think I kind of physically shut down in some ways. I was only in the incubation period of new goals and dreams and I think the surgery, which took a awhile to get, was a good thing, a statement that I am done with this problem draining me and ready for something new, to get on with my dreams that truly resonate with me.

I am so glad you guys keep writing and telling your experiences. Thank you.

I want to post gratitude signs here and there to remind me too. I am so happy to hear about all this and hear the conversations that especially gracenotes and hopeful for change have posted.

Thank you.

I know it works because I was stuck on this miltary base with a husband who wouldn't mow the law and we would get points if the grass was too long. Too many points and you get punished or kicked off base.

I was willing to mow the law but the law mower the base gave us was hard to start. I couldn't start it on my own and my husband would have to come outside 4 or 5 times and restart it if I hit a really thick patch of grass and the mower shut down.

I was reading a chakra book that talked about asking God and the universe for the things you want and saying them like you already have it.

So as I mowed back and forth this very, very long lawn, I said "I have a mower that I can start on my own." I didn't know how that would happen, but I would say it for the 45 minutes I would be mowing the lawn.

Half way through mowing the lawn smoke started coming out of the mower. I took it back to the equipment station where we go it and they gave us a different one. This one was hard to start too. So hard my husband broke the pull cord. So we went back to the equipment station for another mower.

The third mower I could pulled the cord and started on my own. It was the first time in my life I had ever started a lawn mower by myself. I was amazed.

I have not felt decisive and confident in what it is that I want lately.

Perhaps, my vision of what I want is me knowing with certainty what I want and getting it.

I know it works so I just need to hone in and find that dream and vision that works for me.

Thanks for reading. 🙂

My DVD came in the mail yesterday, and my whole family set down and watched it. I was so amazed and grateful that my husband listened and was positive and open to it all. To me when listening to it, it just makes perfect since.

I am grateful that it has shown up in my life right when it did.

I was suppose to have surgery a few weeks back, and was upset my surgery got pushed back. However I have found out that everything does happen for a reason. I learned the secret, I also was wanting a laptop so bad, because I will be in bed alot during recovery. And now I have one.

I feel more prepared and optimistic about my future. I am focusing on recoverying and healing and all the things I want in my life and being grateful.

Back pain had become who I was, I had lost my job, which was my dream job grooming dogs, working with animals, and that really hurt. Now I am thinking of all my posibilitys that I will be able to do. I am thinking of working with my dogs to become therapy dogs and have other ideas whirling.

I have always felt that I wanted to make a difference in this world. It was so hard to just accept the world as it is....the people that have it way worse than me.

Now I am going to turn it all around and see what I can do. Where I can actually help.

I have many dreams coming into my awareness...its awesome.

I am also grateful that I have you guys to talk about this to.

hopeful

OK I was brave and did this activity:
Activity 2: PERFECT DAY VISUALIZATION

If you've tried making lists in the past and find that staring at a blank page with pen in hand is more painful than getting a root canal, here is a more "non-linear" alternative to the Bliss List exercise. It's a visualization that is so powerful, you can even discover your true calling through doing it! Minimally though, it will help you get more clear on what you want, the first step in the Law of Attraction process.

Perfect Day visualization:

What would you do with your life if you could step out of your daily routine for an entire 24 hours? Money is no object. All the obligations you currently have, caring for your family, going to your job, everything—are completely removed. All options are open to you! Sound marvelously fun? It is! This activity has 4 steps:

Step 1 Read the instructions to get you fantasizing, and STOP reading further where it says to do so. Step 2 Do the visualization. Step 3 Write down any notes you wish to make to help you remember your experience. Step 4 Answer the questions provided.

STEP 1

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Be sure you won’t get cold. Close your eyes and take 5 deep, long, slow breaths to get yourself good and relaxed. Aaaaah.

Now, you will spend a few moments just pondering all the possible things you might like to do during this 24 hour period. Do you want to travel? Meet someone famous? Try something you’ve never tried before? You are completely free to go anywhere, be with anyone, do anything your heart desires. Spend some time exploring the possibilities until you hit on something that feels exciting.

When you feel you have that strong sense of excitement, go with it. Imagine yourself doing that thing you desire to do and just flow with it and create a whole 24 hour experience for yourself, starting with that one thing. Just let yourself go. This one thing may take up the whole time, or you may just start there and then move on to other things. There are no rights or wrongs to this! Trust me, your imagination will take you just where it most wants to go.

Okay. STOP READING NOW. Begin your perfect day visualization!

STEP 2

Alright, did you have fun? Don’t you feel wonderful right now? Take a few moments to make any notes of anything you wish to remember about this experience. You are about to learn so much about your true desires.

STEP 3

Let’s begin to explore your visualization. The questions below offer possible interpretations, but only you can fully decode the meaning of your visions. These questions are just guidelines to help get you started.

1. Did you spend your day in your own home or somewhere else? Spending your day at home is very significant. It may imply that you are overworked and need rest, or that you have a desire to work for yourself, or that you are weary of living up to external expectations and wish to be true to who you really are.

2. Did you travel to faraway places you have never been before? This is often a sign that you are longing to expand your horizons and are ready to take some risk in order to bust out of the life that is now too small for you.

3. Did you spend your time pursuing a particular activity? If it was an activity you have always wanted to try but you have never actually done so, now is the time! If it was an activity you are already doing, consider the possibility that this may be a life calling for you, that you may find your life purpose hidden in it somewhere.

4. Were you alone, or did you encounter and interact with many people? Again, if you were alone you may be needing some down time in your life—either to rest, or to be able to get your creativity flowing so you can do some dreaming and goal-setting. If you encountered many people, you may be on the hunt for others that can support you in achieving your new dreams.

5. Did you spend time with one significant person? Was this person someone real or made up? Either way, take time right now to describe this person in detail, from looks to personality to anything they did or said to you. I cannot overemphasize the importance of having one key person show up and share your day with you! This is someone you strongly desire to manifest into your real life! If this person is already in your real life, congratulations! If not, keep visualizing more experiences with this person and know that eventually, in some way, he or she will appear in your future.

6. Summarize this adventure using 5 adjectives. If you had to describe it in only 5 words, what words would you choose? Write them down. Now look closely at these adjectives. They are how you desire to be, or to feel—and it is crucial that you begin designing a life that allows you to be and feel this way on a daily basis!

I encourage you to do this activity as many times as you desire. Each time, your visualization will become more and more clear and elaborate, giving you more and more insights into your true self’s wants and needs, even as far as helping you to discover the reason that you are here on Earth and what your life purpose is.

I went to Alcatraz with Thomas and D and we each held Thomas’ hands. Thomas even got to ride his trike at one point. Then we went and had crab meat at the warf. We all ride together in one of those rickshaw sort of bikes. Thomas smiled and laughed the whole time pointing out all the things he saw. Then Thomas went off with a babysitter. D and I went to a hotel and got intimate. After we ate sugar free mango sorbet with a strawberry and mint leaf on top. Then we go and get a massage together with two massage tables next to each other. D and I sit in a whirlpool jacuzzi and kiss passionately. Later, I go for a jog for an hour and my body feels wonderful and strong. The San Francisco air cool and comfortable around me and all of my senses are happy. I take a steamy shower with aroma therapy oils and Salon shampoos…maybe Aveda….I have beautiful blonde highlights in my hair. After D and I go back to the hotel bedroom again and are intimate again and it is incredible. I spend time gazing at my wedding ring while lounging on the bed. Later that evening I kiss Thomas goodnight and he falls asleep effortlessly. I sleep so well that I hardly remember falling asleep.

The next morning I find myself at home. Thomas has been taken to school for me. The backyard to my home is beautiful and has a yard much like the yard of the million dollar home my parents used to live in. There is a pond with koi fish and a beautiful green sturdy lawn furniture with glass tops. I sit in the soft, warm sun light and paint water colors. There are cool dreamy breezes that blow by from time to time. I soak up the beautiful landscaping and all the unique and beautiful flowers bushes and trees. Derek comes out with a cup of herbal tea with honey in it. I know he loves me and seeing me in such relaxed bliss puts a smile on his face and he gently kisses me. He goes off to his job that he loves because he knows he is making such a profound difference in people’s lives as a doctor.

I am so happy and pleased with all the success and pleasure he feels in his work and life. I want everything that is good and beautiful and true in his life because I know how happy it make me feel to be in this state.

We have a nanny that is well payed and happy to be part of our lives. She helps me stay organized and relieves any stress that comes with running a house hold and being a mother.

I pick Thomas up from school and we go to a class together for one of his favorite activities that we have discovered. Thomas feels loved and appreciated like he really belongs in this family and that he has worth and talents. I am happy to be in this class with him because I am with other mothers with their sons and daughters who are part of my huge network of support and friendships.

After I go on a bike ride with Thomas in the beautiful Bay Area weather. I feel serene and blessed to have the health and strength and ability to do active things with my son and enjoy nature, people, and beauty.

adjectives....beautiful, intimate, pleasureful, supported, easy

Hello friends,

Just wanted to jump in and say hi, and spiritualgirl is absolutely right about Wayne Dyer. He's one of the original supporters of ALL of the universal laws (there are 12) He was my first experience with The Power of Intention and metaphysical energy. I have the six cd set of The Power of Intention, and I will tell you it IS life changing, or it has been for me. The abundance that has been a part of my life since I started practicing the power of intention is UNREAL.

He combines a bit of everything, but the bottom line is, you get what you put out there. I've been listening to it for a year and a half, every night I play a segment of the program before I fall asleep.

Dyer's mantra throughout the program is:

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

It's all so simple, really.

2bstrong,

That is really a powerful book and CD.

Wayne Dyer has been one of my favorites. I have read that book and have the CD. He's really popular on public television too. There is another book of his "There's A Spiritual Solution to Every Problem" that has really resonated with me. That one I keep going back to read.

Its really interesting -- these concepts. So many different authors and some new thought religions/spiritual practices all basically saying the same thing in their own unique way. Different people are drawn to different books, CDs, practices that verbalize what really is the truth about life.

I have been getting ready to make my visulalization board and have been thinking of what I want.

One of things were alot of animals, mini donkeys a skunk..yes a skunk you can train them like cats. Different animals.- I am an animal nut.

Yesterday a friend called and said she wanted to give me her mini-donkeys for free and free fence for them.

Wow, was that quick.

Mini-donkeys!! That's exciting. I had to smile at that. Yes, the universe can work quickly. I think it is beyond the area of time anyway so things can happen right away. I realy think the universe has a sense of humor too.

This is a great post - I hope that we can get it going.........

I have posted some really cool positive stuff that has been happening to me under 2 other posts: "Recent trip to Funeral" and "I can't believe that this is just now occuring to me."

First I prayed for this awful weight to be lifted off of me with open mind and heart - and the next morning I was contemplating what a strange and wonderful thing it would be - to know that someone would be "there for me" when I needed them.

What a monumental thought!!!!

Then I started to take an "emotional inventory" of all the people who HAVE been there for me in the past - and I for them - and it has made all of the difference in the world.

I hadn't realized just how much I focused on how others were not there when I needed them - that I was completely blind-sided from those that actually were.....and how I was there for them as well.

NOT through obligation - but from a sincere love and caring to help each other through life's temporary "bumps in the road", as it were.

Had not realized how much I fed into that whole scene about what I didn't get - but rather - what I did get...and continue to receive.

Support is not so scary anymore.

I am much less skeptical and now - more open to "Intra-Dependence" and am finally starting to feel like an "adult" with some simblance of what "normalcy" entails.

INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!

artist girl,

Thanks for your encouraging words.

The thing is - that this stuff does NOT happen on an intellectual realm.

Some of the greatest insights and spiritual revelations I have ever had is when I just - basically throw my hands up to the sky and say - I don't know what to do anymore!

I'm tired of the fight. I'm tired of the awesome weight - take it - take it ALL!!!!!!

And by gosh - if something amazing doesn't happen from being open and humble and non-intellectual.

Funny how the universe works in that way - isn't it?

But - then again - when you think about it - how ELSE COULD IT WORK?

You have to be an open book for this stuff to enter into our lives - otherwise - it really can't present itself in "edgewise" while we are too busy being intellectual and all.

I guess the bottom line is that sometimes....we just have to get out of our own damn way - you know?

I am so thankful for this thread.

There is alot of negative and "stuck" mentality on this site - though I do realize that everyone is on a different level with regard to their own process and development -

Still -it's so refreshing to connect with other like-minds as we contemplate and experience the incredible "possibilities" and "potential" which seem to - obviously now - be available to all -just through the humble asking - without all of the dogma usually associated with organized religion.

I am glad that I have a place to come to share my positive experiences and know that it will be understood and appreciated.

Thank you. 🙂

Very cool truthbtold!

I say show up as who you are and when you have success others will follow in your foot steps looking for their own sucess when they are ready.

I think is a site that people go to when they feel like perhaps they can't go anywhere else because they are over their heads in problems.

I know I was, but I think my life is something beautiful with hope of healthiness and success in the future.

I'm so excited! My book club that meets most every week, a fun group women in various forms of recovery, is going to be doing The Secret. We get together and actually read out loud the entire book and discuss things. I ordered a bunch of books today on amazon for myself and two of my friends for next week.

Also, got some posterboard. I really like the idea of a vision board and already have some good ideas about what it going to be on it. Hope to get started this weekend!

If you know anyone in your life who likes The Secret, this would be a fun group to start. Just need a place with a table and chairs, the books, maybe some munchies and hot water for tea. That's it. Read the book there, then don't have to worry about whether one is caught up on reading. Take the book nice and slow. I enjoy my spiritual book group. We've been meeting for years. Its fun, relaxing, educational, and a chance to see my friends regularly.
