Hi all - I strongly urge you to view this story about the geese, if you haven't seen it already. It sets a wonderful example of how a relationship should be.

Shaney,

I went to the site. Lovely. I saw and heard huge flocks of geese flying overhead today. It turned cold here. It is a trip when you can hear them flying by and *honking encouragement* but can't see them in the night sky against the stars. It is dark out where I live.

That sounds wonderful, Lass. Unfortunately many people here do not see the geese in such a great light - their are so many, and they literally take over the street sometimes with their flocks and stop traffic. And then, well, their the poop.

But as an animal lover, myself, I love watching them. And this inspirational message will surely bring added smiles each time I see them again ... =))

i've posted this before, but here're some more lessons from geese in keeping with the theme...

Wild Geese

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Nice addition orangeboy - that was lovely!

There is a golf course across from my office, and there a hundreds of geese out on the course that I've never seen before until yesterday! What a nice coincidence (sp?)!!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the geese story :o) I love it too.

There is a video out about the migration of birds... but I don't recall the title. It was absolutely amazing to watch and learn about their travels and travails. Makes you see there is a plan to life when instincts in animals can be so strong.
