Does anyone know what symptoms of a kidney infection are? From what I am lookin upit looks like I may have a kidney infection. I have the fever, my lower back just around the waist is hurting quite a bit, my urine is cloudy. Does this sound like it?

If I were you, I would make an appointment with my doctor and get my urine checked for infection.
You can look online for information, too, by going to Google and typing in Kidney infection.

google: kidney infection symptoms

Also, talk to your doctor's nurse or receptionist first...maybe they will allow you to go to your local medical lab and have a urine specimen taken there first.

The reason I would not wait too long is because I used to get bladder infections off and on, and the doctor told me if I just let it go and did not get on antibiotics, the infection could do permanent damage to my kidneys. Over time, of course.

My symptoms were fever, shaking chills, and I felt just REALLY sick. I did not get better until I went to the doctor and got antibiotics.

It would not hurt to call and get the doctor's office opinion...

My thoughts are with you...do not worry. Just DO take care of yourself and get well!

Fantas,

Yes that does sound like an kidney infections. I use to have those all the time until they found out that I had kidney stones.

There is a fever, chills, back hurting or which ever side that it is hurting on and urine is cloudy.

If you can't get to the doctor soon, you need to drink plenty of water and granberry juice. The granberry juice will wash away some of the infections that you may have.

The whole purpose is to wash away the infections so by drinking this all day, it should help some.

Girlfriend, I will pray for you because I already knows what that pain is like. Take care of yourself.
Nappy!

fantas--

I agree with everyone above. Go to the doctor and get your urine tested. It could be a kidney infection. It also could be a bladder infection that if not treated with antibiotics, could do some damage to the kidneys. I used to get the same symptoms.. I hope that you feel better soon.. Keep drinking lots of fluids....

Oh, dear, Fantas, I spent 7 years fighting UTI's - surgery, etc. No fun. Only thing for it is antibiotics. You MUST have a urine test, ASAP. It might be something that can be cured right away...it might be more.

Go to the doc or ER NOWWWWW!!!!!

H-gal

P.S. I carry Bactrim with me at all time, due to still being susceptible to bladder infections!!

Thank you all. I just did a urine test and dr. says it's too early to tell. I have to wait a few more days. Also it may not be a kidney infection. We will see. That is the quickest dr. visit I have ever had. Didn't think it was possible for drs to work that fast 🙂

Huh? Too early? That must not be a bladder infection, then. They can tell on the spot if that's an issue.

Main thing is that you've seen him. What else did he do? Blood?

Honolulugal, yes, that is what he said but he also said to keep an eye on the pain at the side of my back. At first I thought I had pulled a muscle in the gym. It still could be that. No blood test. Only a urine test.

Thank you Ras... I wish we had pictures of everyone but that would mess up the whole anonymity thing wouldn't it 🙂
