While we are getting our one minute's worth, mine please:
My grandmother, and aunt also had breast cancer. It was that silent fear that I had lived with for a long time. I postponed my first mammogram from the age of 36 to just before my 40th birthday. I had discovered a lump in my breast 35 days before I discovered I was pregnant with my first daughter. He said wait till your next period, and we will check it again, it disappeared, but came back around the age of 38. I cried and shook, and trust me it tood every ounce of stregnth to get that mammogram done. The radiologist was kind enough to read me the results before I left, and the lump was nothing, and has since disappeared again. Do not try to live in denial, or fear, please. In my case loads at the clinic, health care is important, in the case management. Many of the women just like I was were aware of the statistics that Blondie pointed out, and like me had procrastanated, and lived with fear, when they could have known there was nothing. I can't tell you the relief I had when the results were shared with me. I can't tell you how foolish I felt, when I recalled the fear, the guilt, the shame, the excuses, and then thought what that could have cost the people that I love. The numbers are high, and we don't always get the answers we want, but sometimes we do. The thing is, just like Blondie experienced, she discovered something, it was taken care of, and now she gets to be an angel for all of us. So please don't waste the energy and time in fear, get the damn thing done. It isn't all that bad, and only takes a few minuets of your day, that just might save your life, if not your mind.

Smile - didn't mean to freak you out on that one, just sort of quickly found one and skimmed over it, not even considering that part of it. "sorry".... All these medications are over my head anyways.
