when will men realise that their only redemption is to embrace the sacred feminine?as a man it is obvious to me that testosterone is killing our world.why don't men admit to this obvious truth? at the end of a man's life it is not the cold metal of a gun he craves against his skin nor an angry word inside his ear.invariably he'll want a gentle touch and a soothing whisper.........a lifetime's journey to find the female in the light.

crazy fucked up man!

I agree it is a man's world. Sometimes I find that women are still very repressed. There are still not enough women in high paid careers and it seems that men are in the way to put us down if we ever want to take that path.

Its nice that you see this as being a problem.

Have you always thought like this? or has something lately made you think this? Are you thinking about the war in iraq?
Take care; and your not crazy! lol

Well, most men, (and women for that matter) have never heard of the sacred feminine.

It’s not that I completely disagree with you, but I think it is unwise to absolve 51% of the human race from responsibility here.

If you look at the industrial democracies, at least, the women have greater voting power than men do. So you could argue that the actions of industrial democracies are really just the realized policies of our women. How many women voted for our current president? How many women marched on to express their outrage at the beginning of the Iraq war?

The feminine also has a dark side.
Consider that much conflict comes down to competition for scarce resources—land, water, etc. The resources are scarce because our numbers are growing at an exponential rate. And it is women, more than men, who seemed to be most possessed of that terrible urge to reproduce.

From the loins of womankind are born the origins of conflict and also the politicians and warriors who will wage war.

That reminds me. Most children, especially young children, spend more time in the company of women than they do with men.

What are they learning from those women? Are they learning about the divine anything? Or are they mainly learning about passivity and consumption? Or maybe they are learning that life is a competition and that winning is measured by:

The amount of property and jewelry you own.

The size of your house and car.
Etcetera.

I swear that as a pedestrian who occasionally has near death experiences while in a crosswalk, I most frequently have to leap for my life trying to escape from large, new SUVs being driven by women.

It reminds me of a satirical article titled:
“We Must Preserve The Earth's Dwindling Resources For My Five Children”

worried dad: I would like to comment on your post. There are still many places in the world where women still can not vote.

Women can only reproduce! I dont know if its a terrible urge! It takes two, maybe if men were less irresponsible and used condoms more often hey presto.. less children produced!

I think many women would be happy to have their husband look after their young children and go to work and come home to a clean house and a sleeping child but due to our history of men being the 'breadwinners' this is still far from reality of what happens. But many MEN wont do it. They want to be working.

I do believe it still is a mans world. I wish it was not, and I know that the world in changing and women are more independant then ever. I feel that in my lifetime we will not have total independence and be treated as equal.

You should take some responsiblity for your own kind and not be a typical male dumping the problems of the world on women!!

Take care

Jesus Christ Sad_Girl, you act as though a man is standing on your throat right now?
Men do not hold women down. How in the heck can you even say that when the education system caters towards women, and now the university system has female enrollments over 60%? If anything it's the young males who are losing the battle these days. And now the the nuclear family flatlining you have more boys who are growing up navigating towards gangs since they have no male role models in their life.

Here is difference between you and me, I agree there are plenty of worthless men out there, but you are kidding yourself to think "I" can protect you from yourself. Maybe if more emphasis was placed on integrity, values, morals, honesty, and character, you could screen many of these guys out.

You women have more power than what you think... you have more control over male behavior than any male could ever attempt to reform. That is by only seeking out that type of man outlined above and stop rewarding men with questionable intentions with your bodies you would reinforce some men to behave more responsible. Those that continued to want to be jerks could lay down with hookers...

Nazzdeck: Men have stood at womens throats since life began. Its the way society has always been.

Some quotes from Australian Sociology 1993 "Statistics relating to income or major insitutions of power in contemporary societies is enough to convince one that there is a sharp divide in the power relations between men and women".

"Overall men have more power than women". This is what I believe, and I feel that you are just thinking about this from a mans perspective! How many females are surgeons compared to males? How many females are judges compared to males? How many females are pilots compared to males?

Why is this? I believe society has always seen women as the carer and the supporter, and NOT the breadwinner. And as for your details about females having more places in uni, Id be interested in finding out what degrees they are studying. There are still more males studying engineering and law and jobs that when completed males get paid alot more. Im not saying females cant get there, I know they can. Im saying its ALOT harder for females to get these high paid careers!

Ahh your so frustrating. Go read about history and see how men have treated women over time. Some cultures abandon their female child or have abortions because only males are seen as worthy in society. Why is this?????????????????

"Some cultures."

But what cultures in part of the world do we want to talk about today?

I figure, since we are all typing at the internet, that we probably want to talk about the world of the 21st century, and the Western World for that matter.

"The phenomenon of female infanticide is as old as many cultures, and has likely accounted for millions of gender-selective deaths throughout history. It remains a critical concern in a number of "Third World" countries today, notably the two most populous countries on earth, China and India. In all cases, specifically female infanticide reflects the low status accorded to women in most parts of the world; it is arguably the most brutal and destructive manifestation of the anti-female bias that pervades "patriarchal" societies. It is closely linked to the phenomena of sex-selective abortion, which targets female fetuses almost exclusively, and neglect of girl children."

"Female infanticide is the intentional killing of baby girls due to the preference for male babies and from the low value associated with the birth of females."

Source: http://www.gendercide.org/case.....icide.html

How about you do some reading or go back to school so you can understand that this is the world of the 21st century and this sort of shit still happens. I pity your lack of understanding and the fact that you dont consider China and India part of your world. Why would I only want to talk about the western world? I, unlike yourself can see outside my own immediate environment, culture and background. You should try it sometime, never know what you may learn.

Truly amazing how much one can be in denial and blame women on the top of it, Worried Dad and NAZZDACK.

"And it is women, more than men, who seemed to be most possessed of that terrible urge to reproduce."

"rewarding men with questionable intentions with your bodies you would reinforce some men to behave more responsible. Those that continued to want to be jerks could lay down with hookers..."

“Men do not hold women down.”

Oh really????

I don't even feel like commenting on those statements, because I cannot imagine where to even start from. From the kindergarten perhaps? Makes me wonder if you have any clue in what world we are living in?

In fact I can't respond because I am going to puke (sorry to be graphic), and no, not because I am pregnant because of my constant urge to reproduce while reinforcing someone’s irresponsible behaviour by rewarding him with my body, but because what you wrote is simply nauseating.

Please carry on feeling sorry for yourselves and blaming women for it. I just had one of those, as healintime called it, “jaw hit the keyboard” moments on AAC when I read your posts. It made me sick to my stomach, not to mention that my jaw hurts really badly.

Please note: whatever minority or oppressed groups we are talking about, there is always some kind of a deviant sexual behaviour ascribed to them:

“ Bishop (1994) contends that every oppressed group has been assigned at least one negative sexual myth, usually that the oppressed group is sexually out of control, immoral or perverted. All women secretly want to be raped. Gays and lesbians are perverts who engage in unnatural sex acts and want to seduce children. Poor people breed like rabbits. Black men want to rape white women. Black women are sexier than white women. Aboriginal women cannot say no. Disabled and old persons have no sexuality. These stereotyped attributes, of course, reinforced the socially constructed scientifically legitimated belief that groups other than young, white bourgeois males were inferior and degenerate.” (p. 38) from Mullaly, B. (2002) “Challenging Oppression: A Critical Social Work Approach” Chapter 2: Oppression, An Overview (pp. 27-50) Toronto ON: oxford University Press.

If you still have any doubts whatsoever, just look at Worried Dad’s and NAZZDACK’s posts what they wrote about women’s sexual behaviours.

I would truly like to see a thread entitled an equal world, now wouldn't that be thrilling! I can see how the title of this thread is pushing sexist buttons. It did mine.
