It used to feel good to come here

I used to come here, several time a day sometimes, because I needed the support. I found comfort in just seeing strangers helping each other and despite my social awkwardness I found friends here.  I am still as depressed and everything else I always was but now when I come here it causes as much anxiety as real life. Everyone fights all the time now. Maybe not everyone but enough that I fear trying to join a conversation because of the way the threads are taken over. I will continue to check everyday to see if my friends stop in but it isn't the same anymore. This is not a safe place anymore. It is terrifying to think something personal and painful shared friends will most likely be thrown back in your face. I hope maybe people can look at this and realize that some people NEED to be here and the fighting is just too much. If you don't like someone stay off their threads and for heaven sake don't fight on someone else's thread.

The key words are "it used to feel good...".  This site has gone down the drain. I have written letters of concern to the administrators, to you, shining light, and just to the forum, in general, but NEVER once did I get a response from you or the administration.

Can you (and the higher-ups) see that when the new format was introduced, the readership and the quality of the site, diminished? .... When the only messaging going on is you, Shining light, responding to very OLD postings, you have to admit that this new format is NOT working.

There is NOT ONE of the veteran members who post here any more. These were individuals who had posted for YEARS. What does that tell you??????

They have done such a disservice to all of us who used to come here for support.  Cry

sad sack,

I understand your sentiments but the site has really changed a lot because of the newly implemented system. Maybe you've been wanting to experience the support you've had 2 years ago and that is because OLD SERVER used to run this site that time. As much as we want to hold on to all veteran posters like you, we can't do anything about it because of the many changes that might be unacceptable to old members. We cannot explain it all technically what really happened to the old AAC but what we can re-assure you is that this site will continue to offer relevant information coming from different pages that you can read for free. Hence, the forum is also open to anyone whose needing support and shoulders to lean on.

We won't force everyone to remain and continue to support this site but on behalf of all the people who stayed and for all those who registered and accepted the changes, we are more than happy to entertain and have them. This site will continue to cherish all the members regardless if they are veterans or not. Your freedom is more important for us. As long as the the rules and regulations of this site have been followed accordingly then anyone with good intention is welcome to join.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you so much for your feedback. Take care!

Shining Light,

Clearly, you missed the point that I was trying to make. Of course, you cannot force anyone to remain or support this site.  And what does the line "your freedom is more important to us" mean?  What does that have to do with anything?  And of course, everyone is welcome to join. When did I say anything differently?

I am just saying that the site is horrible now and that because of the changes made, the site does not have the high quality and integrity that it did before. Why change something that was working so well?  THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see that it doesn't matter how people feel. You and your fellow administrators will continue this format no matter who has been driven away.

I know that this is a business but one of the key aspects of business ownership is to realize when something isn't working and be ready and willing to admit it and make some changes.
