.....without feeling victimized?

I am thinking that I am aprroaching this - maybe.

I used to always associate pride - you know, not asking for help - don't need any help from anyone else etc...with weakness and victimization...............

But now - I am wondering....and thinking now - that there may just be a middle ground?

Am I on the right track here?

Is there a middle ground?

If so - what does it look like?

I know that there are some great folks out there whom can give me a healthy slant on this and I would appreciate your comments.

thanks.

addendum:

It feels good to swallow my pride, as I have done recently.

connects me. makes me kind of feel crappy and good at the same time - with "good" kind of winning out, you know?

tells me that - well, hell - most of this fear was just my own fabrication of reality.....and NOT the reality of the situation at all.

(STILL doesn't mean that I will be a dorrmat - though!!!!)

(I should have figured all of this crap out when I was say......10 or 12 years old - or even earlier - but never did.)

So now - I'm trying to play "catch up."

(Maybe sports would've helped me with this kind of stuff as a youngster....but I was too busy with my head in a book!!!!)
