I now understand I am on a journey...frantically searching for fragments of happyness, along the way, inside me. Sometimes it feels just like a lemon, squeezed many times already...little drops of happyness quickly dissolved in a big glass of water...is that all there is? i can alleviate the pain ..but sometimes I feel this is just surviving...

Hello cejluna. I know exactly how you feel! I mean I have been feeling the same way for some time now. I don't know if happyness is real, but I often question it myself. Good luck:)

Happiness is real because it mostly comes from within. When you squeeze a n old lemon, this is positive because you have some drops ,it is better than no drops at all.You also have a big glass of water, this is also positive. Everything has positive and negative sides,it is up to you where to look.Heaven is around you and hell is also around you,so why you choose hell?!!

I don't think that happiness really does exist.

To Fall
thank you for yhe positive view! i will keep reminding myself of the good things, my disposition is obviously more negative than yours, so I constantly feel I have to go against myself in order to find me!!!
I hope one day I will find those drops effortless to apreciate!

To Christine
maybe fall has got a point!

Christina is right in that happiness does not just exist ...in a vacuum, floating around to be "found"

Happiness is where you find it, taking the time AND THE COURAGE to admit that even when life is shitty the sunset still looks pretty and babies are still cute.

Glass half empty? Glass half full?

Ya know life is what happens when you are busy looking for something else.

stop wasting time. Enjoy! Laugh! Live!

Cejluna:

We all have learned and chosen certain rules and we behave according to these rules. Seeing your disposition as negative is one such rule. You probably have chosen such rule when you were a child. You were ignorant (as every child). If you are an adult now, you can change such rules. It is not easy of course, but it is not impossible. The main thing is your willingness. If you want you can change such rules. I think you have such desire because you are here: this is positive. Try and many people here are ready to help you.

Good Luck.

Happiness is real, it is also different for different people. What is it that you want to be happy with?
Are you looking for the right life mate? The perfect job? The large home?
Excitement, personal achievement, wealth and success? What sours life for you? For me, I would very much like to be more attractive, more successful, etc... I very much doubt, though If I such things, even by magic were dropped in my lap would make me happy. I very much lack any belief that I have worth as a person. I view any mistake as a reason to put myself down. I really believe that I am basically without the value that others around me simply have, with out having to earn it, and I have found that I can not earn it by being the best employee, hardest working, nicest friend, etc.. Do you also have self defeating attitudes? I am currently involved in therapy, I do not yet know how successful it will be. It is a struggle, I can not do it with out help. Maybe you might want to consider looking into getting some help.

Happiness can be as real as a brick wall, only more fun when you run into it! But I also have some times when I seem to forget how happiness feels, just because I'm so full of all kind of bothersome, important sorrows or problems, or I'm sometimes just too busy to be happy.
But happiness is always in there or out there somewhere. It usually hepls me to calm down and stop worrying and searching for it. Because happiness is kind of shy, it won't come out of it's den when somebody out there (e.g. me) is chasing after it.
Take care, eve

I believe happiness is real. If you feel something......how can you deny it? Sure...it comes and goes sometimes. It's not a constant state. But I think if you feel happy.....great! Go with it. Why deny yourself joy in your life?

I think you can't find TRUE happiness (hapiness that will last) in anything in this world, especially not in material stuff or people, because you can't put your security in them. No one can garantee that you are going to have you're material stuff tomorrow (or the next minute that is). No one can garantee that the person that brings hapiness to you won't die tomorrow (let's face it, it's true). The only true happiness is found in God, because He's the only one that is trustworthy. He will never let you down. He is the only essence of happiness. You can waste your whole life looking for hapiness but you'll never find it in another place.
Love,
Me.

you can only achieve happiness if you REALLY want it. if you work hard enough on figuring out yourself and what happiness is to you, then it will eventually come to you. for 5 years, i didn't think that it existed. but then i went to therapy and it helped me learn.

is happiness real? of course it is. : ) when was the last time you smile? and within this brief second of whatever it is that is making you smile.. THAT is HAPPINESS.. happiness can be long term or short term.. it's not permanant so therefore you have to constantly search for it.. you have to understand what is it that makes you happy and stick to it. build your own hobby of happiness and put it in a box.. soon when your box is filled up. you're be more of a happy person than before when it was empty..
but dont search for happiness in the wrong kind of way.. meaning doing anything to hurt yourself or to hurt others to achieve your happiness.. dont be selfish and block out the world.. learn to give and love others.. be kind and helpful and you'll find an inner reward in yourself... and from others as well.. people who choose to search for happiness only for themselves live lonely lives. they are happy in their very own island.. while the world is consist of a big continent with many people... find happiness within yourself and others .. it's everywhere around you
