try Talkcity.com or you can search the web under "gay chat rooms" I tried it on infoseek and found a huge list of chat rooms. Look around. Surely you will find someone you can talk to who is in the same situation or at least similar.

good luck

Rob,

Tell your family to stop judging and condeming you... Are they God? (John 8:7, "Let he that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." Stop letting guilt run your life! Trust in the one who created you and let go... and let Him lead you on the right path.

Take Care,

Jaskid

Hey rob,
I feel for you with this issue because there are no easy answers but i think you need to be okay with your sexuality yourself first and foremost.

I don't think you are totally happy with being gay at the moment, maybe you should work on that?

I used to know the wife of a psychaitrist and she said that her husband had many gay clients who went to him suicidal about having these feelings and wanted to be "fixed"

But l;ife isn't that simple, if someone turns you on, that is a fact. You cannot pretend that you don't have those feelins,
I am heterosexual, i could not deny this for all my life, this is where my orientation lies, but then i licky aren't i. Society says that my feelings are "normal". You have it harder, but not impossible.

Can you learn to accept yourself, can you shed all the ideas yoyur family have installed in you over the years and ask yourself " am i okay with this, do i really fing being gay abnormal or is this just how i have been brought up?"

You may find that in reality you don't have a problem with it, it is just that whole family thing, Once you are okay with yourself it will be easier to tell others.

I know Australians aren't exactly open minded when it comes to Bruce loving Bruce instead of Sheila!

remember those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind.

Keep us posted

roblob,

being gay is NORMAL, and HEALTHY! If you're gay, you're gay. It's like trying to be right handed when you're left handed.

Society is still several decades behind in its support of gays and other less-majoric ways of living.

Diversity in all that we do, and all that we are is refreshing. Just imagine now, really imagine...what would the planet earth be like w/ all white, christian, well-dressed, well-spoken, picket fenced people?

We probably wouldn't know the difference, because that's all we knew, but what if suddenly, it became that way? HOW HORRIBLE.

It doesn't change that it's difficult overcoming the hurdles that being of the non-marjority has, but we all have some kind of hurdle, and yours is being gay (and what a fun one to have!). You've got a life extraordinare to live, unlike some of the mundane that a straight person might have to endure (more fixed or rigid roles, societal expectations, etc).

We're here to support you however we can with your hurdles...keep us updated!
