If the ghy U know drinds too much, chainsmokes or does druges, there's your tip-off right there. He is not oerating on a responsible mental plane. Normallly, self-destructive people do not limit their damaging behaviors to themselves. These are the very people who are most likley to behave irresponsible toward you as well. Whether that means lying, cheatin, stealing, putting you in harm's way or even losing their temper and getting violent, people who have shown a lack of control over their destructive impulses need to be avoided. You're not his therapist ad the door way to your house doesn't have TWELVE STEPS.

What's frightening is the enormous amount of men and women over the age of 13 who have not figured this out yet.

Kudos to what you said Destiny!!! I only once dated a man for a short period who did not seem to be healthy. Don't know if he was drinking or drugging, but he was emotionally unstable, flaunting between loving me and hating me mode. Thank God I was wise enough to avoid him, even tho I cried a lot for doing so.

Now I realize that it's better to weep now and moan than later...otherwise, I would have seen myself in a situation similar to those women who come to this site complaining about the abuse they're going thru from their loved ones.

Rasputin yes you are wise. I am wising up. The man I married was addicted to perscription drugs for his bad back. I had nooo idea what an adiciton was. He also drank a case a beer a day on top of that. I mostly thought he was an alcoholic. Had no idea about drug and alchol addiction. The strange thing was sometimes he was responsible, sometimes he was not, he lost custody of his kids from 2 different woman during that time so I thought he was reacting to all that stress. I am happy to see his smiling face behind bars (he is serving a year sentance) then in the morgue.
