I have decided to take charge of my recovery! I have been in years of counseling and attended countless therapy groups and just don't feel that I am getting any better. I function fine on a daily basis, but never really feel that I can put the past behind me.

Has anyone tried this approach? The guy who did this is a licensed Psychologist and a Physican.

No. I have never truely given it much thought. Hmmm...how did it go? I would love for someone to make me forget certain peices of my past. But then again, I have heard that everything that happened in your past makes you what you are today, so if I forgot my past would I be the same? If I changed would I like me better or would I wish I could get it all back? Maybe I would be the person I dream of being, but without trial and error already learned, would I have to do it all again? How would I know better??
.....Now you've got me thinking....

I have been trying this for the last week or so and it seems to be working. I find myself being more positive and really being conscious of my behavior and trying to change it. What happens is that 88% of our behavior is subconcious and we are not aware of it..so if we bring it to light, then it is in your conscious state and you make better decisions based on what you already have knowledge of. I think its awesome...I went to a certified hypnotherapist and then I bought some CDs online and I go home every night and play them...Very very relaxing and works as good as the actual hypnotist.

I think I can finally work on my issues.

Oh...I get it. So it's not like a snap your fingers and wake up sort of deal. I want to try it. Where did you get your Cd's from?

Hi Cary:

I am glad that you are doing something positive for yourself. I hope that hypnotism helps you in your healing.

I read an interesting article by Dr. Joe Carver called "Emotional Memory: Dealing with Trauma Memory." I posted it once before. You could probably find it by searching the site.

Or, it is available at http://www.drjoecarver.com under the articles section.

You are always so supportive. I wish you the best.

Hi Student

You can get any CD..I got this one regarding weight loss and there are 6 CDs in it but I thought they were quite expensive. It does work if you put your mind to it..Also, try EFT (google it) to tap into your emotional hurts.

I am feeling much more positive and positive things are happening to me because of my attitude.
