RW:

I know your life is hard and you do deserve a good week. Try to focus only on the positives. Look at everything w/ a sense of humor. Keep your heart and head lite. I wish you will have a good week.

I like the title of this thread. Yesterday, I snapped out of my bubble finally. I DECIDED to be happy. I remembered a phrase, "Fake it till you make it." I just decided that I would act happy, even if it was fake. I said, "How would a happy man act?" and decided to act like one. I think Abe Lincoln (or someone) said "I figure men are about as happy as they decide to be."

I feel much better, and it is so much easier to forget the thoughts of my "ex" when I approach it this way. Before, I was trying to forget her by coming up with "replacement thoughts," but that was difficult because the very act of trying NOT to think about her made me think about her! ARRGGGH!

So I feel so much better now. By "acting happy," it has opened up my eyes to all the things I can accomplish in the futre, without getting caught up in the past. Yes, I'm fake. So sue me (LOL).

Try it. Google "act happy" and "fake it til you make it," etc. It feels fake and difficult at first, but the times when I feel happy are growing longer and longer each time. and people respond to me more positively, which feeds my self-esteem even more!

When I was "googling" the whole idea, I even stumbled on a silly Partridge Family website, referring to the song the song "Come on, Get Happy..." It's a REALLY dumb song, if you read the words, but it made me smile...

Also, I memorized a saying yesterday: "Never move backwards. Attempt and do it with all your might. Determination is power." (I forget who said it, but I liked it.)

(Happy) Jack
