I have a first name that's doesn't look like what it's supposed to be and I am constantly spelling it and correcting people's pronounciation. I would really like to change it but I am afraid my family will make fun of me or mock me. has anyone done this and what has your experience been?

Which bothers you more, people always mispronouncing, misspelling your name, or family mocking you for making a change? Keep in mind one is a proven fact and the other is speculation. When you've weighed that out, you'll know what to do. Think l o n g term. You already know what you really want, and you know it's not out of rebellion or selfishness that you want the change. But only you know the familial stuff you'll face.

"What's in a name..."
I wish you courage to change the things you can, serenity to accept the things you can't change and, mostly, wisdom to know which is which.

<3 --that's sposed to be a heart, but it didn't really work, did it? It's the thought that counts...?

Some of the more "brilliant" minds in the history of recording of thoughts have names which are often misspelled, mispronounciated, etc... It is what makes for inteseting discussions among some, especially when the person is no longer around to correct people. But, that is not the root point.

Here it is: You are not the name, title, whatever people call you (believe me, if I took to heart how people spelled my name and pronounced it, Yikes!) You are who you are inside, what you and Spirit decided before you came into this world. You are you, no matter what you, or anyone else calls you.

KNOW in your heart that you are a special individual, with a special, albeit hard to spell and pronounce, name. You are special to this world no matter what. May you find the peace you seek through understanding...
