Everyone gets the blues once in a while. One part might be that it is a natural part of being 11... My daughter will be turning 10 soon and her body is changing into that of a pre-teen. Part of that is your emotions get all sensitive & out of sorts due to hormones in your body. She has been really blue & easy to cry for the last few days too for no reason. I wonder if this is what is happening with you? If it is, it is all a part of your body maturing into a young lady.

But still ~ knowing you have friends who care & will listen helps.

Gather some of your favorite things around you - or just look at them... maybe try reading in one of your favorite books.... anything you like to do, focus on. It will help to distract you from being sad.

If you want to know something funny, I have a bandage on the bottom of my foot that I can't get wet for at least 3-4 days. I look very funny in the shower with one leg sticking out & being held as high as I can to prevent water from running down it. The Dr & my husband both suggested I duct tape a bag around my foot, but that is slippery & removing the duct tape is not fun... so now I stand kinda of funny ~ looking like an odd Flamingo perhaps ~ trying not to slip on one foot I have in the shower while washing. Pretty funny picture huh?

Sometimes hitting a pillow helps. Punch it as much as you want.

There you go, sweetie. You can pretend the pillow is whatever you want to hit, and make the sad go away.

Good night, Kiddo. Hope you're feeling better.

Love ya, SD

Much love right back at you! I'm glad you are feeling a bit better ~ I didn't want to sign off until you were. Try remembering all the ideas mentioned here if you get to feeling this way again ~ music, reading, focusing on things you like... You know we are with you in thought even when we are not 'here' here at the same time to post. Glad I was here at the same time tonight.

Enjoy your story, sweet dreams...

(tuck, tuck, tuck ~ giving you a bedtime tuck in as it is 11 pm here)

I have to go for tonight ~

(((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

Dear Jigs,

I was so sad for thinking about you crying and feeling so sad when I read this.

It is Wednesday morning and the TODAY show is on TV, and they talked to a girl who was very very sick when she was 11, and she wrote this book -- "In the Shadow of the Tree" by Elana Ackerman -- to help other children as they go through this kind of hard time.

If someone could buy this book or get it from the library for you .... it sounded like a really thoughtful, helpful book.

I hope you are feeling much better today. Best wishes.

Kristie, I was sad too because where I am its winter and I feel cold then sad a lot! Its so good that a bad day passes just as the cold will pass too. I cant wait. So glad for you that youre going to the park and are tall enough for the rides. Be careful, though. Some rides are so rough. If I could choose between feeling good to go to the park or to work I would choose feeling good enough to work, you know? Thats what we grown ups are raised to feel good about! Have fun tomorrow!!

PS: When you have a chance do read the book Anne of Green Gables (I think by Lucy Maud Montgmery - spelling may be off)

Glad you are feeling better Kristy! Yay!! Have fun at the park, but those real fast rides aren't always super fun... I can't go on the Turtle or any of the spirally ones anymore. Guess maybe I'm showing my age?? Fast is ok... up & down ~ I'm ok.... but fast & twisty make me pray for a bucket! hehe, I feel soo old now! ;-}

Hope you have lots of fun & enjoy your day!

All the best,

Juanita

oh, I see others recommending some books to you ~ I always used to like the Little House On the Prairie books... Lots of fun. I'm glad you like reading ~ I always loved it as a kid. Wish I had more time to do it now.

Well Jigs had a great day at the amusement park I believe. She popped on long enough to say I'm to tired. I had fun.

I'msure we'll hear all about this tomorrow.
