I ignore my hunger while spending time on addictions

Please someone tell me to put satisfying my hunger as the higher priority and stop surfing the Internet?

My mom used to have us ignore ours hungers by scolding us when we said "mom, i'm hungry", she used to often yell "Stop being so impatient!", "imagine those people who dont even have bread at their homes!", or "can you just WAIT??"

So... she kept us hungry. Even when there was great food cooked, she wouldnt let us eat it because there wasnt enough (she probably didnt want to cook more). We learnt to ignore our hungers and I'm still doing it. As I type I'm so hungry but I'm surfing the web. Gosh.

I think ignoring our hunger destroys our self-esteem and it beats down on the little boy/girl . right? What more should I do?
Is hunger, physical needs to be a top priority? What other needs should I cater to? I get good sleep, so sleep is not a problem, only this hunger is. I've *got* to pay more attention to hunger.. *tsk*, not good at all.

Hi Guest_Guest

Trust your body and what it's telling you. It will take care of you if you take care of it. If your body is in need of nourishment, feed it.

Have empathy for the people who don't have bread, but also rejoice and be glad that you are blessed beyond that state.

The priority is you--on all levels. Take care of your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

And, if surfing the net relaxes you or brings you enjoyment, don't feel bad about it. Continue to surf...perhaps it's therapeutic for you.

The great lesson of life seems to be - everything in moderation. Eat, drink and be merry for the ability to wait until later is a privilege not a guarantee.

Take care guest and stop by the Coffeehouse for some chocolates!
