This is what it feels like when a control freak loses control......ouch. I need to do something. I am obsessing about what I want to do to get him back, but sitting here isnt helping. Any suggestions on how to spend my day? Any good books? I'm thinking about getting showered & dressed, going shopping & going to a bookstore to sit & read. I'm so scared to breakdown while I am out. ANy help? Things to do at night BESIDES a bar or club?

Ryny,

I replied on your other thread - but, you have come up with one of my perfec ways to spend a day and that is at the book store.

Books to read? Codepenent No More. How to Survive the Loss of a Love. Mr. Winkles Wonderful Life - just because he is adorable.

Take a walk through a park that you like. Feed the ducks or birds...

See a movie. See something funny, or an action flick anything but a romance.

You can do this.

Funny- I bought Codependent No More a year ago, when we had a lot of problems. Never read more than a few pages bc we stopped fighting for a little bit. Silly me. Thanks again! Your encouragement means a lot

Ryn - Each time the urge to call him kicks in, do something you really love for yourself. For instance, have bubble bath, get a pet, go out for shopping, plan an outing with your gfs to go and visit anything fun...zoo, planeterium, insectarium....botanical garden, grocery shopping or department stores.

Also meditation helped me a lot. Instead of thinking about him all the time, I replaced him with my HP. I bought a book filled with encouragaing and motivating poems. I take it with me everywhere I go and seek solace in it. I use this book and recite the poems almost every day, during my lunch break at work every day, any time I feel like I will burst in emotions or miss him so badly.

I recommend you Ryn to do the same. We all struggle with contact and missing him due to our dysfunctional and abusive childhood and the only way to heal our wounds is by getting intouch with them and nourishing them with spiritual food.

I hope honey you will fee better soon!

I have found a coffee house in my town. It is full of colorful people and I go there with a book or a journal and sit there for a couple hours. I can't stand to be in the house so I run from it as much as I can. The problem is then the cleaning never gets done. I am so overwhelmed with everything in my life that I can't seem to get on the house work. Anyone have a suggestion for this?
Most of all I think we need things to occupy our minds. They are forever running over the negatives in our lives. If you find some answers I would be happy to hear them.

I try to do one room at a time. I do it compltely, then I feel good when I can sit down and do nothing. I feel as if I deserve it. And I feel good that I got something accomplished. Then I tackle the next thing. Same thing. It is a process. So it is not perfect but I did something.
