Be real and genuine before others. We sometimes try to lead with our strengths, to show how great we are. People are far more receptive to us when we actually show them our weaknesses, our failings.

Further, when we do this, the love we do receive from them can find its way into us, because we don't misread that they only like our persona that we are putting out there.

At least this is what I have found to be the case.

You are great exactly as you are!

Also, confidence comes from trying something new.

LL

I really like the last piece - about trying something new. Even if you're not that good at whatever you try, I think a lot of confidence comes from *simply* trying something out of your comfort zone.

For me, the biggest factor in having self-confidence is just being yourself and trying to associate with people who share your interests, who bring out the best in you, and who accept you - even with your flaws.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss

Wow Dr. Suess was so cool. That is interesting. I think I will stick with that thought today. I am in need of building my own self confidence. This helps a lot.

I once heard the best way to get self-confidence is to make your self do something that you're afraid to do.
