How long does it take to get over a broken heart?

You meet someone fall in love, you only knew them for a week you were on holliday and they live in another country but you love them, how long before the pain goes?

I cryed over someone for eleven years. But just be thankful for the love you shared and just keep her/him close to you heart. As far as how long, only time will tell. Be thankful, some people go a life time and never know what love is are they never get to experience love. Just don't get to wrapped up in the what of would of stuff. Remember the moment and move on. I wish you the best!

Damaged, good words.

Anti, you could stay in contact - no? an email now and then to say how are you? no? Just because of distance, no need to destroy what your noble heart began.

The pain never goes away--you just learn to live with it. If you truly love someone, there will always be a little twinge every time that you think of them--and that is right because that's a part of love and you don't ever want to lose your ability to love. That's what we are put on earth for.
The pain is fresh right now it and hard to bear. All you can do is cry it out and talk it out and little by little it will lessen. Before that happens, and nothing else works--distract yourself--do something pleasurable, go see a funny movie or find someone hurting worse than you and try to help. Try to focus outside yourself --it does help. Stay as positive as you can, we all need it.
