How do you do it? Find out what you want in life? I would gladly go DO IT if I knew what IT was!

Ok I get it. I just need to get my table so I can finish up that painting, then start on a new one.

ARTIST 2-

I think that the only way you figure out what you want out of life is to go out and experience life you know. I mean its like you don't know if you like or dislike something unless you expereince it. But then again, you have to take a chance. Finding out what you want in life doesn't come from sitting down for an hour and writing a list, it comes from experiencing things and people for that matter in life. The ones that cause you pain you learn that you dont want those qualities in the next one. Just like with life, the things that cause you pain you deter from the things you enjoy you go towards, I love to snowboard so I do that, I love law, and law enforcement so I tend to do things in that field. There isn't some sure answer for this but I think that if you look back at what you've already had in life, you might be able to see what you want in life.

That's a good point, Aces. One of my favorite things is movies and I've started trying to see as many movies nominated for academy awards as I can. I've been going by myself but I have enjoyed the time spent doing something I enjoy rather than pining away for Mr. Wrong. And so far, this is the best Monday I've had in a while. Maybe things are starting to get better. As far as more important deeper things about life, I'm not sure what I want. But it will be fun finding out. I'm kind of excited about figuring out who I'm supposed to be....

You look at something that you have an interest in - and you do it!

Jump in, try it. You might not like it - you might have a blast.

Some odd things I have done - just in the name of trying...

Took a class in Russian - met some interesting people there. Can't speak a word or Russian.

Taught a class in English as a Second Language - met some even more interesting people.

Tried parasailing - yes, that screaming everyone heard two summers ago was me! But, I'm going to do it again too!

Delivered flowers just last week to help a friend out who was short handed in his shop. Told him to call me over Mother's Day.

Moved to a new state completely all alone - did not know one single person in TX where I ended up. 16 years later - I'm still here, and I now have a host of friends that I love dearly here.

When I was by myself here - got a dog - trained her in Agility competitions. We had a blast - need to get back into it, I had no problems staying trim keeping up with her.

Volunteer my time for The Association of Independent Living. This is a group of "special adults" who are living on their own - although supervised. I help organinze and raise money for their trips and charities.

There are all kinds of things to do and try and to do - some you will like and some you will hope you can get a refund.

But, like I said - life is so short... do what you need to do until you find what makes you happy. As you continue to grow and change - it will change as well - but there is never any harm in trying.

Z.

Here are some things I've done to beat the post-man blues:

Movies - Nancee you're a woman after my own heart. I love to rent movies.

Horsebackriding - So much fun! If you've ever wanted to do it, this iw worth a get-around-to-it.

Learning how to knit - that's in the plan.

Vegetarian cooking - have lots of books to explore on the subject.

Volunteering for things at church.

Singing!

Learning to play an instrument.
biking, running, yoga - any kind of exercise or reason to do it.
