or emotional vicious circle.
it goes
hope disappointment suicidal thought apathy hope...

I sometimes blame myself for not remaining hopeful and being weak, or ask if I set up high expectation or disappointed too easily. Then try to be positive again, only to find myself in the same place.
Though I feel better than a few months ago, and I'm trying to see the improvements in the long term, mood swings are still hard to cope with. When I'm in the lowest cycle, all my efforts seem worthless and it gives this terrible feeling nothing has changed. Would anyone give me advice?

Wow...I got where you are coming from...I suggest you take smaller steps in your goals. That way, there is less of a chance of failure and a cycle repeat. And as I recommended to a person earlier...take a walk and observe the wonderful things around you. The woods are best, but if you have no woods, find a park. Smell the trees..and dirt...look at life...close your eyes and hear it singing around you. Get a hobby...something that you have wanted to do..that you thought would be neat to do but "said" you never had the time. In reality, you were peobably being lazy like I was being. 🙂 Fact is, some of us have to make ourselves do things we thing would be neat. 🙂 Example...I think it would be neat to make stained glass pictures...the problem is that I am accident proned with sharp objects...there is my challenge. There are so many things you can do with the time that you don't think you have. And remember, take small steps, your goal isn't going anywhere and you don't age that quickly. 🙂
Take care.
