I have a friend who is mexican american and said that she is depressed and have been for quite some time and has a daughter that will not obey her which is causing her not to sleep good at night and is always anxious and nervous. I did not know what to tell her. How would you handle this if you were counseling her?

how young is her daughter??? under the age of 18 y/o??? how about setting up boundaries with the daughter, say grounding her for not listening to her mom???? just not sure how "young" or old her daughter may be.....

Christmas,
Daphne Flower has posted under advice constant abuse and how to handle it. She talks about parenting skills in relationship to partners but it may apply here in the parenting department. Don't know if it will help since I don't have enough information about the situation at hand to answer much. Take care.
