Find out the numbers to Drug Lines, they usually have useful info.
Leaflets from doctors surgery, they usually have clinic info.
Generally u need to seek medical advice, theres associations out there waiting 4 your call. u can do it.
Good luck & keep posted.

Heal the self that needs to take this self destructive drug in order to avoid the real pain of repressed emotions and lovelessness...
Find your spirit and listen, first of all go cold turkey

Sorry I have been away, I work with heroin addicts. This recommendation that I am going to give you is based on working in this field for many years. I may get lots of feed back on what I am about to tell you, but in my experience this is the only way if you are sincere on quitting. There are two signifigant things going on right now, your physical illness and your psychological change that needs to be worked on, you will need to become different. You have three options as I see it, #1 a methadone clinic, there are two programs, one a 21 day detox, which in my opinion just postpones the unavoidable, they give you a dose, and decrease it daily for 21 days, it costs at our clinic $12 daily, in my opinion it is a set up for failure, but it depends on YOU, to tolorate the physical pain, plan b) maintenance, which can go on for years, some of the clients, have been on the program since 1988, the physician will give you a dose based on your use, and you will need to attend a clinic daily, it will take up to three years before you EARN the privledge of only comming to the clinic once a week, based on legislation, if you are in the USA. Depending on where you live there will be a drive and a cost and maybe a wait to get on the program, it will cost from $180-$300, monthly. There is some counseling, but... its mostly up to you, unless you have medical, then you are forced into 4 hours a month..and of course regular drug testing when ever they feel like it. #2, kick on your own, taper your use, or do it cold turkey, with the help of your physician, if you have one, seizures is a signifigant risk, again depending on your use, and do the psychological stuff on your own. #3 Get into a 30 day - 2 year program, that will assist you with the detox, and the psychological work, and must be a live in program better far away from where you live. If you have custody of any children it is easier to get into a program, but must be on a very low dose of methadone. You really need, must go to get tested for TB, HIV, and Hep C, which most IV users have, sorry. You did not say if you use by nose, smoke or IV. You must completely cut all contact with the drug using sector, even family for years, if they use. You must get physically active, to help with the physical pain, and help to restore the chemicals in the brain. You must be in school, or start working for a company. All signifigant factors in recovery for the goal oriented behavior, as well as being busy, which are also signifigant. I notice that most of my clients have dual addictions, liquor, speed, pot, or valium, codine, or T3"s and T'4s various downers, etc.all of which must be discontinued also. I do believe that there are a variety of RX that can help you get balanced and back on track, but you must follow directions, and not abuse those, and that takes personal committment. Make sure you are physically well, get the periods back on track, and any other physical illness, any abcesses get cleaned up etc, check for diabetes, and get the weight on. Realize that you cannot bury the pain any more. If you decide to do this on your own, you will still need so much support. There is so much more detail that I could go into with you, but will wait for your reply. This will be hard, but the other option is death, after years of misery. I work with a variety of ages, and variety of successes, and failures, but the one set of factors that is so very true, incarceration will eventually catch up with you, as well as a variety of illnesses, a life of chaios, pain, suffering with only moments of bliss. I will wait for a response, let me know what area you live in to help guide you. I believe that you can get over this , and live a normal life, if you believe that is what you want, and are willing to do the work. There is alot of support all around, it can happen for you, but it is up to you. And, I guess even considering the risk, my heart always tells people to go cold turkey, benedryl, and imodium d, help, but make sure some one is with you. It should only last one week.
