I have been in low paying jobs for 25 years. I am always working overtime because the companies need me. I've tried to get educated at home in between caring for home, family & work, but learning is difficult for me. I have a difficult time remember what I learn, planning, & organizing. I don't know how to get ahead.

There are different learning styles and people are intelligent in different ways. It might be helpful to discover which learning styles are you learn best with and which ways you are more intelligent and focus on something that builds on your strengths

put multiple intelligences and/or learning style into a search engine to get more info on these topics

Some community colleges and/or work centers have career centers that can help you improve organization, study skills and help you choose a career that will better meet your needs.

I wish you success in improving your life.

You can study online if you wish. There is also distance education whereby you only attend to hand in your assignment or research or have the final exam.

With this age of hi-tech and communication, you need not worry about any thing. You may even ask your boss/supervisor for a day off per week. A co-worker who works with me is doing that. He studies at the university and takes every Friday or Thursday off so that he can focus on his studies. Can you ask your supervisor for that?

Also, I agree with CM. Don't worry. We all have different genres of intelligence and even different speeds. Don't compare yourself with others esp. if you perceive them as highly witty. You might feel frustrated with yourself. Every one of us is special, smart and gifted even if in different way.

All the best in your education projects!

First give yourself a big pat on the back for furthering your education. Next make sure you are really really interested in what you are learning. Finally give yourself a break. You are balancing, family and work obligation plus schooling! Don''t take a full load. Get the family in on helping you. Drill the kids on their multiplication facts then get them to drill you on vocabulary or whatever.
Best of luck.
