Bitsy,

Thank you for this thread, it’s been interesting to learn how our ACC names came about.

And it would be interesting to find out that if we were allowed to change our names today – what would each of us change them to.

I’ll go first…….

If I could change my ACC name today I would change it to…………………………

Nolongeratalose……….LOL

I picked mine because I believe in Gods and Goddess's and Isis is the mother of them all.
I also loved watching the show Isis when I was a kid. When times were crazy, I wished I could be "Almighty Isis" and make things good again.

OOOOOOHHH Atalose, I have often thought of contacting the site coordinator and asking to change my name and announce it, but then all the hoopla of people posting under other names rears it's head and I decide no. I will stick with Bitsy because it is who I was. I chose the name because of the dog, but I think subconsciously I also chose it because I was in bits and pieces. I had felt really good about myself and had the world by the horns but R had gradually worn me down to not knowing who or what I was anymore. I have been in little bits and in being here I have started putting the pieces back together and becoming a whole person again. Sometimes when I think about it Bitsy sounds like a sorority girl or someone you would meet for afternoon drinks at the country club. I think I'll hang on to her and see who she really becomes.

Wish I could remember why I choose my screen time coz at the time I was anything but loving life - my first post here was heavy with sadness. Maybe it was what I wanted to be doing???... and didn't want something negetive to contribute to how I was feeling...??? OR that shortly before I started posting here I had met someone who had me feeling I was loving life (he had me walking on air then pulled the plug). Interesting - wished I could remember why.

Any names I've thought of in wanting to change my name since have always be negetive...like something with '_______victim' - or '(his name) girl.' But their always short lived.

Just thought of something - 'loving life' describes my personality at times...

I hate my name now...

When I came on this site it was because of terrible things going on at home.

army - my husband just returned from being activated.

leo- he's a law enforcement officer

so he must have been on my mind.

now I hate my name, tried to change it but couldn't so I live with it now.

My zodiac sign is a lion/leo, so half my name is changed.

Army,

I'm sorry you hate your name, but I do understand why.

I like that you switched the meaning of leo to your zodiac sign...

Now lets see if we can come up with a different meaning for Army....

picture an Army of Lions behind you, protecting you and giving you strength. Ready to pounce on anyone who tried to harm you or the girls. You can ride on their backs when you are tired and worn down from the fight and their soft fur will keep you warm in the coldest of times.

Did you ever see or read the book the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe? Aslan was the Lion character who was my favorite. So from now on when I see your name I'm going to envision an army of Lions like Aslan.

Oops I left a little out of that last bit.

It should read:

Did you ever see the movie or read the book The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia Series?

Great thread!

I chose mine because above everything else, I will not settle for anything less than the true essence of something....even if that ends up taking me a lifetime to get to the heart fo the matter....

(((Isis))))

I actually thought about you the other day in my Western Civ. class when reading about Isis and wondered if that is why you chose your name.

Now I know 🙂

When I was a small child, I could be quite stubborn.. If I was told something I didn't want to hear, I would respond with "fraid not". To this day, when my family members want to let me know I'm being stubborn, they will repeat that phrase.

I thought the play on words would be fun.. and, sometimes representative.. "Frayedknot".
