hi, i have a sister who is an alcoholic with two teenage sons. she has lived off our mom and her older kids for the past two years. both her kids and our mom have been evicted from their apartments due to trouble she has caused while intoxicated. she was thrown out of her apartment for letting her children trash it several years ago. she lived in a house provided by my brother, but would not make the rent or utility payments. i need to know if there are any services i can recommend for her. i hate to break up her family. her kids are very attached to her. i am at a loss. my mother has moved into another apartment and i am afraid she will be evicted again, because my sister will go to visit her and never leave. my mother feels that she cannot put her grandchildren out on the streets. do you have any advice?

Vajam, Go back and read my post "Family Trouble" Gosh !!!! I think we must be related to each other!!!! I'm in no position to offer advise on this one, but I too am interested in learning what services may be available, particularly to learn what income-based counseling services are out there (in Texas) if anyone knows.

thanks for your concern,
I called my mom yesterday and the two boys were with her. they had stayed with a friend's mom because their mother is in a different town than ours. My mom is disabled and not really able to take care of the boys, but they help her out. I have rasised my children and they are out on their own and I really don't want to go thru the teenage stage again, especially with someone else's kids, but I guess I will have to contact child services about taking them, because I do not know what else to do and they do need a stable environment. They have been through a lot with their mother and one of them said he would kill himself if she moved them to a homeless shelter.
