I enjoy buying gifts, but it would be nice to do this all year. On the other hand, why can't we be nice all the time, and not just around the holidays.

I REALLY MISS MY MOM...

Lisset, my mom thought I should have bought blue lights for the tree this year....I thought of you.

I had already bought red lights.

Hope that you can remember the good memories of your mom...Artist.

My favoite Christmas memory is of the year that I had no money. My daughter bought a tree with her money. It cost $6.00. It was my favorite Christmas as my daughters were hugging each other and very grateful for what little we had in our material world. We had each other and that was the most important gift that year....

Still is.

Even if we are separated by distance, we can remember with a smile, holidays gone by then do something about our present. I bought a tree for $30 this year and it looks like the one my daughter bought for $6 and it makes me feel loved.

Like Silk told me the story of
Christmas is about second chances.
Be kind, be patient, be spiritual,
and above all be honest, especially
to yourself. They will come.

Thoughts of my son as a child make me smile. He believed for so long, I loved it. He was curious though, so every year he had a new idea for a trap for Santa. He sprinkled flour under the table where the cookies were place so he'd leave shoe prints. He tied a string across the fireplace opening with bells on it. He put "reindeer" food outside to see if it got eaten and find paw prints. He always had a short list, and was ever so grateful for what he received, even if I couldn't always fulfill the list, or buy the exact thing. My daughter on the other hand, makes me smile also, but I have to laugh cuz her list would like fill a notebook, a she was a little smarty pants who stopped believing at a very early age. My son to this day, at 18, will not admit he knows. It's a precious memory for me. I want him back at that age, I miss him that way. I've never been a big overspender at Christmas, don't believe in it all that much, most of what I give family and friends is what I make. It's what I like to do, and it's what I like to receive, I love "homemade" things. So those are some of my holiday thoughts, now I need to get busy making all my candies and cookies. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Sosos that is a cute memory you wrote.
My grandson still believes a little but I think he kind of suspects us. He is so cute I asked him to write his list and he wrote house slippers, raiders sweatshirt, some books to read and thats about it. He is getting all of that and also I bought him a ps2 playstation, I spurged on him. :-)))
