Here recently my roommate and I had an argument inside the apartment which resulted in him taking a long box that still had a christmas tree in it and smashing it against my face. I retaliated back and smacked him on the arm and the cops took me away for domestic violence. There is a court date coming up for it and the court sent him something to fill out. Either Jail,A fine or supervised or unsupervised probabtion for me. I had that envelope in a plastic sack I have been carrying around and when I wasn't looking he took it and I didn't know it. He already marked one of the boxes and marked unsupervised proabation. What does that mean exactly. What will they do? If he would have checked the fine box couldn't I have gotten away with doing community service for it? Why would he take it when I wasn't looking? Trying to further ruin my life or something? Doesn't that sound awfully scandilious to anyone? What should I do if he already took it when I didn't know and already checked a box already? Somebody please get back to whenever you can. Thank you!!!!!!

You've been set up and you're getting screwed. Get a lawyer. Do this yourself without an attorney and you're done for.

Get an attorney and the case will likely get dropped.

It's gonna cost some money probably 1500 or so. Otherwise, he is asking that you get unsupervised probation, which means you won't have to meet with a probation officer monthly but you'll have to go to court every 3 to 6 months for the duration of your probation and you'll have to complet a batterer's treatment course, which runs about 1500.

So it's 1500 for the batterer's treatment course, or 1500 for the attorney, your choice.

That's what it boils down to. From here on out, never retaliate, be the first to call the cops. It's all you can do- learn from this.

I guess I am a little confused, was the letter addressed to you or him?
