Hello everyone...I am new here and searching for help. I live in denial. I have trouble dealing with problems and I feel I have created a false reality for myself and I fear I am unable to balance the reality I have created and the actual reality. The lines are very unclear. Can anyone offer insite?? Anything would be appreciated.

Can you be more specific about what your reality is as opposed to actual reality?

I let myself live in a dream world. I don't take things for full value. I always tell myself things aren't THAT bad, everything is ok. I don't deal with any problem in my life, I some how make myself not see them. I tell myself everything is ok when it's not. I can tell myself that but in actuality my problems are still there and they escalate.

Hi denial,,,how about taking one problem at a time. I'm not sure what problems you're having but sometimes, if you just take one and work on a solution realistically before you start on another, it may not seem so overwhelming; then you can start with another problem.

I, too, have a tendency to minimize and tell myself things are not as bad as they really are. Sooner or later though, as you are now finding out, you realize that you need to start dealing with things in a constructive manner,,at least that's been my experience.

I hope this helped some!! W.

My problem is facing the problems themself. I don't want to know I have problems. I would like to think of myself as organized and in control and I feel that I am not those things if I have problems in my life so I don't acknowledge them. What do you think I can do to bring myself to face my problems and be ok with it?

Would it help to write things down? I know I like to be organized and feel I at least have something in order in my life. I keep a journal, not that I do it daily, but that helps me keep in touch with what is going on. Also, I sometimes make lists so I can decide what is most important to deal with first. I know I don't like to have any problems either, but I guess I see that we all do at some time and that it is part of life so for me the simple way is to write things down and take a look at them.

Maybe you would like to start by just describing the reality that you have created for yourself.....and take it from there? How do you feel about it?

It is a different thing making a reality that has no problems then living it that, than being aware of a reality with problems and not dealing.

Yes, why not write down what the problems are and possible solutions - one at a time.

If you feel pressure about this, take it slow.
