Right now my husband and I are not doing so well. We have a 2 and 4 yearold with one on the way due december 24th and It hasnt been an easy pregnancy. I am on partial bedrest. I am supposed to lay down about 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. My husband does work a full time job but so do I in a way by taking care of our children which is exausting. He will not help me with the house cleaning and I had asked him to cook dinner for the two of us tonight while I was at my wounded heart support group and when I got back he hadnt cooked it cause there wasnt a clean pan. Its just so frustraiting. He makes me feel guilty about the house not being clean but he wont help me clean it. He wont go and talk to the manager about fixing our dishwasher until our apartments clean. He told me that he is ashamed to have his friends over because of how the house looks. I had a lady from my mom to mom church group offer to get some moms together to help me clean up the house and he told me that he was ashamed of having them here. I need some help and it took a lot for me to except her offer of help. I had to get past my pride. Its saying hay I am not perfect. But my husband makes me feel so shameful of our house. I just dont know how to get past this

RW:

My hubby doesn't help w/ the house either and i'm not pregnant. He said today that instead of finding a new girl to clean the house he and our daughter would do it. I almost fell of the edge of the bed from laughing so hard. He doesn't cook either. His mom swears he can, but the only time in 14 years he did cook he bought a bunch of different frozen dinners. go figure.

You have the ladies come help if they would like to. If he has a problem w/ it then have them come while he is gone to work. I know tht's hard since he's workin . I don't know why they are so bull-headed, but they are.

Next time he fusses at you just say "how bout that".

I totally agree with Mama. Let those wonderful church ladies come and help. This is what kindness is all about. Please accept their help. Never mind what your husband says. Have them come while he is out.

Random,

I agree with the others. We all need help from time to time and that is nothing to be ashamed of.

Your hubby will get over it. He was given the opportunity to help and he chose not to. If it bothered him that much....he'd pick up a vaccuum, now wouldn't he?

I actualy think that I wont need the ladys to come over cause my sis in law stayed here for about 2 hours after I went to sleep lastnight and cleaned my living room. It was a very nice supprise to wake up to. I finaly got my boys' bedroom clean I still need to do the bathroom the kitchen and my bedroom and another area but I think its a bit more managable now. I am baging up some of my laundry for one of the ladys to do. SHe made me promis that I would. Thursday and friday my husband and I are going to clean our room he already agreed to it. Tomarrow I will get the bathroom clean and my husband hopefully will help me with the kitchen. I am no longer on bedrest so i can actualy get things done. and hopefully my husband will step up and help me out a little

there is no "in a way" about it...looking after children and keeping house IS a full time job!!! I wish guys would grasp that fact.
