Hi to all!

I am almost done with this book and have only had it a few days. All I can say is WOW! I definitely plan on following the steps to the healing process as defined in the book. I am able to see things so clearly now, why I attract the same type of men and why my relationships cause me so much pain. This book causes you to take a deep plunge back into your childhood to see things for what they really were and stop being in denial. It causes me to take a really good, hard look at myself, which has been painful but in a good sort of way

I would like anyone who has read this book to give me some feedback on what it did for you and how it helped. I would also like to know if anyone has followed the recovery steps decribed in the book and what was the outcome.

Thanks in advance

Hi uptoolate: I thought that book was facinating. Gave me some really dif pespectives on some of my behavior. One aspect was that when we think we are encouraging men and supporting them we are actually trying to contol and manipulate them. Made me take a step back and think.

This was the book that changed my life completely. I read it about 10 years ago. I think you can find me on page 23. 🙂 It changed the way I dealt with my husband, and worked a remarkable healing in my life. It's when I started Al-Anon too.

I plan on starting therapy and alanon too. I am in the very beginning stages of facing all of this and I know it takes time. I hope I am strong enough to do all that I have ahead of me. I know I have to be.

i try to practice all the steps with the "Women who love" book, especially about cultivating myself, doing things that i wouldn't normally do, doing one thing a day that I don't want to do...see, that pushes me to get out there and not be afraid......and I learn to go to my Coda meetings weekly, and not go out with my friends that nite, I make it important to stick with a program. I can read the back cover of the book and it practically tells my life story. It does take time, but doing a lil everyday helps to get better. I have had that book for about 8 years and I am still reading bits and pieces from it...so yes, it does take time.

Keep reading, Karen. Don't stop your recovery. I just took steps today to see a therapist and got meeting times for alanon. I am scared but it feels good at the same time.

Come back and talk if you need to.
