My son continues to have his rages but is trying to control them. No he wont go to counseling, he does however sit and talk with me on occasion and agrees he does get out of control and he says he does not know why. At times when he is yelling and getting red in the face and throwing things I can feel my insides in knots and some old feelings of when I was a child hearing my drunk father beat my mother come back to haunt me. If they affect me I know they affect the children although they continue to play. IM hoping that when I move out he will feel better about himself and also when he starts working again he will feel more productive but its all up to him to change.

NO I dont feel like a victim here just going through life with someone who has anger management problems and who just happens to be my son. I do get upset with him but dont harp about his rages. They are usually directed at his girfriend or his son lately and not so much me. When he is dicipling my grandson I find it very hard to stay out of it especially when I know he is wrong but if I do say something it only makes things worse for my grandson.

But overall things have been a little bit better and hopefully will continue to be so.

Thats it for now
Bel

Hi Bel,
Glad to read your post....
I too don't enjoy people raging around me. Childhood issues 🙂

Thinking of you....:)

Hang in there Bel. You sound like someone who has been through a lot. Your grandson is lucky to have you there for him. There might come a time that you have to say something to your son if it is hurting your grandson. Children can take a lot but it will also stay with him for a long time. I'm glad that you are posting Bel. Take care.

Your son is at least talking about the fact that he has issues. My husband took over a year to realize he had a REAL problem with depression, and later the anger.

Here it is 6 years from that initial discussion and we are still having issues.

There is no easy fix for your family here, but you are doing the right thing in moving out of the line of fire. It would be nice if you could take the grandson too, but legally you cannot. Maybe take your new place and offer to babysit a lot. So that Grandma can be his refuge.

Good luck to you, Bel. When is your move out day. April? I bet you can't wait!

Jenny

Keep the prayers going, and

Correction: Keep the prayers going (for your son and family), and keep yourself healthy.
