RW, how hysterical and cute you are! Did you finally get the boys to bed?

I have often wondered the same thing!! Then there are so many oxymorons in our English language, it is too funny.

Actually..Greenland was named that because when it was first settled by the Vikings it was quite green.. The climates eventually shifted though, when the world went through a "mini Ice-Age"

Iceland was accidentally discovered during winter and was first called "Snowland"... I'm guessing it was almost completely white at the time.. Another sailor discovered it was an Island and renamed it to Iceland. (Island:Iceland.. nice huh?) Again, climates shifted.

At least that is my understanding...

I heard it was to trick newcomers into going to the wrong place. The discoverers wanted iceland, being lusch and green, all to themselves.
