Why in the world did they name geenland greenland and iceland iceland. SHouldnt it be the other way around. I was just explorying the world though google earth and Iceland has so much more green and greenland is pretty much just ice. I dont get this.

Actually..Greenland was named that because when it was first settled by the Vikings it was quite green.. The climates eventually shifted though, when the world went through a "mini Ice-Age"
Iceland was accidentally discovered during winter and was first called "Snowland"... I'm guessing it was almost completely white at the time.. Another sailor discovered it was an Island and renamed it to Iceland. (Island:Iceland.. nice huh?) Again, climates shifted.
At least that is my understanding...
