On a lighter note, there is a website - restaurant.com in which you can search by zip code, to find restaurants that are offering discounts.

Here is the link for anyone interested. Note from now until 6-25-09, you can get a $25.00 gift certificate for only $2.00, but some conditions apply (such as minimum purchase, dates of use, i.e. - lunch or dinner only, weekdays vs week-ends etc...

I bought quite a few last time during the 80% off promotion. Current discount code for 80% off: DISH

Thanks so much. That was very thoughtful of you. There are two restaurants in my immediate neighborhood that I might try (just to see how it works). I dont see where you can get a $25 coupon for $2 though. Is that only in certain places?

Nevertheless, I will give it a try.

Thanks again.

Hey sad,

You are welcome.

What happens is that you can check to get a $25.00 coupon/gift certificate for $10.00 - then when you put in the DISH code in your basket/shopping cart - you can get 80% off of that $10.00 - hence the $2.00.

Sorry I didn't explain that clearly.

Also, the 80% off expires tomorrow, 6-25-09 (but they run these often.)

When I first signed up, I gave them my email address and kept getting promos for 20% - 40% - 60% and then the 80% which is when I went ahead and decided to try it.

I have printed out 1 gift certificate so far and this one is good for a year. (I was concerned that it would expire in a short amount of time. Not sure if all are the same, but I would imagine so.)
