So after about a year of threating my mom and family my mom gave the tapes she recorded of my brother to the police and they arrested him, but sent him to a hospital. They let him go a few days later. This is a person that threatened to kill my entire family even the babies. He is a very sick person. He has tried to ruin my moms life, tried to blackmail her. Everyone moved and changed their phone numbers so that he wont find them. My mom was even going to buy a new car so he wont know her car. But when he got out of the hospital he said he was sorry to her. Now I think she is talking to him again. She said she is taking things slow with him. I don't understand that. What would it take to get her to realise that he will one day kill her? I think he is setting it all up so that he will get off on being mentally ill. He was arrested twice, and twice they dropped the charges. The first time he had a gun and showed it to me in front of my kids saying he was going to kill someone. The second time for leaving hours and hours of threats on my moms answering machine. He has books on serial killers. He was in jail for about a year before for suspision of child molesting. How much is enough for someone to do something about this?

It is astonishing isnt it? I take it this is in the US?
Here in the small town where I live a local person stabbed someone in the head with a screwdriver. His victim lived but spent five days in intensive care.
He was sent to prison, and after two years was released. He had seriously attacked someone while in prison, and on his release has attacked someone else locally, stamping on his victim's leg so hard that there was a fracture with the bones breaking the skin. He is currently on remand, but is expected to get a sentence of five years or so and he'll be out again in three, if that. He is a psychopath. He will not change; and eventually he'll kill someone. His were motiveless crimes. I despair. You have my utmost sympathy.
