Hi Tiger Trainer,

Yes, it is that time. In NYC, we begin a bit later. Tomorrow, is actually the first day of classes for students. Teachers had to report last Thursday for staff development.

I hope that you have a wonderful year and that you are happy with the change regarding your teaching assignment (I remember you were assigned a different grade than what you were accustomed to). How is it going so far?

Hopefully, all of us will have a great school year.

I have had one week of meetings and one week of students. Whoa!, I was exhausted this weekend, but ready for tomorrow. I am beginning my 26th year of teaching middle school students; I love this age group even though they can be very challenging.

Good luck to all here working with our nation's children.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all you wonderful teachers who on top of teaching become friends, advisors, counselors, parents and guardians to many of your students.

I know that some parents blame teachers for their own lack of involvement in their own children’s lives.

Your job is not easy, and I praise each and every one of you for all that you do for all the children you teach.

If there were no summer breaks to take the children away from school part of the time, the insane asylums would be filled with teachers. ~author unknown

Good luck to all of you I hope you all have a great year….

Yes good luck to us all.

Sad sack,
I was assigned to teach 2nd but I was swtiched to third. and I am very happy there. I never taught second but I was getting ready and then at the last minute the new principal switched me to 3rd. I've taught it before and I am loving it,.

I've got a low level class, but they are all sweet children.

TigerTrainer,

I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying your school year so far. That makes all the difference in the world.

I started today and I already am exhausted. Sometimes, I wonder how I am going to make it 'til the end of the year. It is not even 7pm and I am already thinking about going to bed.

I started my 22nd year on August 14th. I'm in special education, and I love what I do.

Hope you all have a great year!

sad sack,
I was fine and very energetic the whole first week of school until around 7 on Friday. I suddenly was soooo tired. i went to bed and slept about 12 hours.

Things are getting into a routine. I still feel like it's going to be a good year.

3 cheers to all of us (or is it we?) teachers!!!!

Congratulations ready for change!! 22 years. I am starting my 15 in public school.
