Does anyone else do this besides me? Every time I have a couple drinks, I feel compelled to call the last guy that rejected me. Why? It's just so pathetic!!

I do something similar... but at least I'm not calling Ex's. I will get on the phone and call all my friends and leave them weird voicemail messages. Some of them I don't even remember what I said. I wish that my phone had a lock feature on it that would activate only with a breathalizer test.

It isn't funny, I'm sure to you. Lol again.

I'm so sorry, I just can't help it.

I have so many friends who do this and my sister too!!! I just never did it! It doesn't mean I don't get soupy once in a while but why in the world do you want to advertise you are a bit intoxicated? Get on line here!! We can deal with it!

Yeah, it is pretty funny! Especially when, the next day, you don't remember what you said. Next time I'll go on line and get some good advice instead of making an a** out of myself. Glad this site is here!

OMW!!! Now I see what is going on when I get those calls.

I have had such a bad day today and this perks me up.

Why in the world, what makes you do this? Regardless, I am ROTF

D dog,

You know, there is really nothing in this world we should ever be ashamed of. Let's face it, there probably isn't a person alive or dead that hasn't done something embarrassing!!!

So let's all raise the glass and laugh it off and vow to do better or at least something different!!! Lol

I haven't ever done this--that I remember...(hee-hee) but I have been on the receiving end of these phone calls more than once and I can tell you, it's not much fun. When my caller was in a space where they were blacking out, I knew I was going to hear the same thing over and over and over! I also knew it would end in him crying or getting pissed when I was ready to stop listening and go to bed. Sometimes he was so angry when I was ready to hang up that I would be afraid he would show up at my door screaming and yelling in a drunken rage!

There were times when it was amusing. There were times when it was part of a sick abuser/addict & codependent cycle. It often felt like pure hell because there was NOTHING I could do about it besides not answer the phone. I hated doing that because sometimes it would be his child, asking me for help.

These incidents have their amusing aspects. They can also be extremely painful--whether you remember the call, or you said a bunch of stuff in a blackout that the other person will have to live with.

I am writing these words because I want my reality in these experiences to be portrayed. I don't want to hurt or offend anyone.

Respectfully,

Ren'ai

I guess I just get all emotional when I drink, and I somehow think everyone else will be, too!! Like the guy's gonna go, "Yes, I haven't called you for a month, but now that you're buzzed and calling me, I've totally changed my mind!!" LOL.

It's that co-dependent, "How can he not love me?" thing, I guess!

Ren'ai, you haven't offended me at all I hope you don't think I can't see the serious side of this because I do but, unfortunately, so many people do this!!! Funny? at times, sad? usually!

Ha I was just talking to my friends about this. I play the phone game when I'm sober like ok I'm not calling him till he calls me cause if he really likes me he should be calling me atleast daily, then I'll have a drink or 10, then here I am probally slurring going why don't you meet me up here, and they probally think I have something completely different in mind. I just did this the other day with my current complete and total jerk I'm attracted to!
Workinonit great idea to just come on here, I will be drunk typing next time and I'll just vent about why he didnt call! Cheers everyone!!! 2 days sober on my quest to find happiness!

Guilty as charged. I have friends now who do me a favour and turn their ringers off before we go out so that when I get home, I can only leave really really bad messages- and of course in the morning, they send me a copy of it through voice mail. I think it is their divine right to redemption. I fully deserve it.

gin makes my mouth run. Thank god I can't drink it anymore. I used to call this guy I had a SUPER crush on, and asked him out. Find out from him that a) he doesn't know who I am and b) he's "sorta seeing someone". Hang up. Think drunkenly, well what does that mean? Only sorta? Call him back. Of course, that SOMEONE was there....Aw geez. He was an instructor in my karate class. Had to see him three days a week for 2 years after that. Never could stop blushing around him.

I have a rule with myself. I NEVER call a man if I've been drinking. I don't drink a lot but even two glasses of wine is enough. I don't trust what I might say while under the influence and I could regret it.

OMG, the title of this thread is SO FUNNY!! Well, I used to do this quite often in college, and practically everyone I know was doing the same. The past few years I've patted myself on the back for apparently losing the urge to do that. But lately I have been guilty of drunken dialing. I've done it maybe 4 times, and I want it to stop again, it's not fun. It's almost funny looking back on it in college, but it's not fun when it's happening now.

Hey, in this modern day and age, there is also TUI - texting under the influence. This is actually safer, because 1) you have a written record of your drunken comments, and 2) you have a chance to read it first and reconsider before you hit "send"! Plus, the object of your attention need not reply.

LOL!!!

I have been guilty of going into chatrooms under the influence. Isn't if funny how when you're drunk, you type the way you would talk?

Alright, well I have done this so many times, that if I am calling someone after like midnight they know that I am trashed and not to answer the phone. It is terrible, I always call the last person I dated thinking that they truly do want to hear me upset, crying, then laughing then sad again, and then to philisophical on the phone. I have yet to control that so I just dont take my phone out with me, but of course once I get home, its a nightmare.
