last wkend i did a strange thing?

i rang my mom, and sometimes i feel crappy, so i don't express it because i think why bother, she can't solve this for me.

so i just went into the kithen and threw a plate, & it smashed eveywhere.

i lay on the sofa for a couple of hours feeling abit stupid! and annoyed with myself because now i had to clean the mess up?

Hi Lewis,,,Not so strange,,,if it helped get frustration out. At least you didn' throw it at SOMEONE!!! I like to heave something against the wall occasionally,,usually it's a plastic trashcan. I don't feel particulaly smart after doing it, but what the heck!!! W.

Hey Lewis....

I need to try that one... It would probably make me laugh so hard at myself that it would dissipate some of the rage I've felt in my life... 🙂

It's actually pretty therapeutic, breaking something like that. Problem is, it's something you like in your own space and you have to clean it up. I think a while back someone suggested collecting up empty bottles and taking them to an abandoned brick wall somewhere and just having a field day, smash, smash, smash...

Just go somewhere, where you won't have to clean up afterwards the next time :). I find that ripping a newspaper, making a ball out of it and thowing it at the wall also helps.

No need to feel stupid. Its just our education that makes us go tsk-tsk, a good girl would endure this in silence and whith a smile, now what a brave, well-behaved little princess. Bollocks. If you feel rotten - its better out than in.

Hugs to you

Lewis- how much you sound like me! I have anger issues and since an incident I had last year, I have been trying not to do things like that.

In easier times, I still had a bad temper, but at least would map out the repercussions. I tried to destroy dispensible items. One time I had a really great boom box that lasted a good 11 years. However it's time came and it ate two pre-recorded cassetes (the technology of the time). Upon the third attempt at replacing the same album... my stereo began to chew up my precious tape. I calmly pulled out my sledge hammer (yes I actually had a small one for rock carving, sculpting).... and I spent the next few minutes smashing it to bits. It was a wonderful release. After I got over the initial shock of feeling like a supremely disturbed person, I felt satisfied.

lol lol

mzella 'supremely disturbed person'

that hit the 'nail on the head'

thats exactly how these outbursts make me feel afterwards too.

i don't know if your m/f but there is a guy at work who is known for having outbursts of anger - and to be honest he makes me sick. he kicks things, swears and speakes to people like 'shit'. but because he is a guy he can bring it out in the open, if i show any signs of frustration or anger at work or to my family, i get the frowns!

here is a good tip - i bought a cocanut - you known those round things with brown hair. i got a hammer and smashed it, i felt a release!

but i got stomach ache later from eating too much cocanut.

: )
