Does anyone else explore incredible emotions via dreams?

I do...periodically. It's just fricking fracking great!!!!!

Just the other night - I had this incredible powerful dream that I "really took charge" I was telling this one and that one off - and pointing fingers and saying - with chest and chin held high....OK.....who's next....bring it on!!!!!!

God, it was GREAT!!!!!!!!

My dreams seem to help me explore that part of myself that I have held back.

The thing about all of this is - that I get so DEEP into my dreams sometimes...that when I sort of wake up....I have to go through a slow process of kind of...re-orienting myself into the 'real world'

I have since realized that perhaps what has been happening is that I have undergone a sort of self-hypnosis of sorts.

My dreams sometimes are so intense - that I have to actually take awhile to "get back to reality" in many phases. Like, the dreams connect me at a place SO DEEP - that I feel - when coming back to the waking stage - I can't do it all at once - but in many phases......like starting on the basement floor and slowly re-orienting myself to -like the 17th floor or something...before I re-introduce myself into the present time.

Stange but so empowering.

of course, the precursor to all of this is when I finaly hone into that part of myself that felt so helpless and defeated...then, it's just like this other part of me finally takes it from there - once I admit those scarry parts of myself.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

I'm so appreciative of my inner workings 🙂

(Funny how it all shakes out - isn't it?)

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this before?

Yes, truthbtold... I have shared similar experiences and benefited from them. Some people say that dreams mean nothing, but I totally disagree- I say it's just that sometimes we cannot understand what they mean because they are not literal.

In the past I used to keep journals about my significant dreams on a regular basis. It helped me work things out and I even made some art about them (it wouldn't be the first time someone did that, think surrealism). I've been starting to do that again.

Dreams could be nature's way of getting our psyche to seek equilibrium.

enjoy your dreams. even the "bad" ones, because there really is no such thing.

ella,

Yes. Without a doubt....I think that you nailed it right on the head: Our dreams are nature's way of getting our psyche to seek equilibrium.

Yes, that most certainly does seem to be the that it all works.

Thanks for your response and validation.

It's really strange to me....but sometimes...it actually feels to me like my dreams are SO real and SO intense in every way imaginable....that my dreams are actually the reality (so vivid with color and intensity) and that the reality when I wake is a little bit removed....you know?

Like dreams are the full-fledged VIVID "techni-color" and reality pales in comparision - in just mere black and white.

I honestly DO feel sometimes when I set out to dream - that my soul actually (gladly)leaves my body at the base of my neck and sort of says....yeeeh hah.... I'M.... "Outta Here!!!!!!".....but then, has to eventually re-enter my heavy physical body (with all of it's mortal disappointments associated with being "human")& "carry-on. :-("

This is pretty much what I know to bw true - however crazy that may sound..........

Really just "flip-flops" the notion entirely of what is dream-like and what is real...............

Maybe THIS is one of the advantages to being such a sensitive person.....ya kind of know what's what in this realm...............

Hi truthBtold I feel compelled to tell you the truth. I have experienced these types of dreams also. even as far back as i can remember 4 or 5 years old. I am sure you must be aware that in addition to strong emotions this i believe is a quest into a spiritual realm where only a few people go. It is a tremendous gift and a tremendous burdon all at the same time. The ancient text of the old testament and even the new testement mention these things. Don't worry i'm not fixen to go on a preaching jag, my point being that this is nothing new and your certainly not alone in this type of dream or vision. You have the heart of a poet and that kind of sensitivity lends itself to spiritual sensitivity as well. i also have a spiritual senstivity, and these "dreams" if we want to call them that are a fabulous help in directing us and making us aware that the fourth dimmention of living truely does exist. there are so many of us caught up in forms of addiction that we rarely have a healthy life in the three dimentions Mental, physical, and emotional. But to live in the fourth dimention as well requires a sertain ability to develop this sensitivity. You and people like you i believe have a natural ability that lends itself to this kind of life. However the people who have no clue what i am talking about would sooner lock me up than recognize that this dimention of life really does exist. I hope this helps a little and I would love to hear more about your gift.

jv63,

I just now got around to checking my older threads.

Your post was so validating.

Thank you so much for your response!

All I can remember growing up was constantly being told over and over again (in a negative framework) that I was being "too sensitive."

I am so glad to communicate with someone such as yourself who understands.

I agree with you completely that it is both a gift and a burden....and actually I am a poet for real.

(Sometimes I even write a poem completely backwards - with the last line first and the first line last.)

Also, I have had 2 instances in which perhaps you may relate to: I like to watch shows on the Discovery Channel, TLC, the Science Channel, the History Channel, National Geographic etc....

One time, several years ago, I was watching this one show on how there was to be a some sort of tunnel to be dug deep under the city of Athens, Greece. I was watching this program with just "normal" openness and curiosity - like I do with most of these shows......then - when I saw a bulldozer actually plowing deep into the earth for this tunnel -all of a sudden - I felt as if a bull-dozer was scraping deep inside my guts and solar plexes. This feeling came completely out of the blue! I ended up having to rock myself back and forth for comfort while watching it because it felt like it was happening to my body.

Like I said, that happened some years back.

Well, just this morning - I was watching a program on the Science Channel (I believe) about a fleet of these "Ghost Ships" they called them which they found in Pisa, Italy perserved and estimated to be around 2,000 years old - and once again - out of the blue - in watching the archaeologists dig up the bones and unearth the structure of these early roman ships....once again - I felt as if they were digging straight into my gut.

While the first time kind of threw me by surprise....this morning - I finally realized that I must be a very old soul.

Just no getting around it.

Not something I think about ever - really - just kinds of hits me "up side my head" in a big way when I see it being played out in fromt of me.

Strange.

Anything like this ever happen to you jv63?

Wow!!
That is increadable. I have in fact had similar experiences but not exactly the same. I want to be clear however and qualify the statement(s) before I make them. 1 I respect your thoughts on being an old soul i personally don't subscribe to reincarnation however completly respect those who do. My personal experience with those gut wrenching physical pain responses have usually been a spiritual disturbance being played out in front of me. I am not sure if that makes any sense. I know for me when that the signifigance of the event is completly unseen by 99.9% of the population. being sensitive to the forth dimmention it seems to me your tunned in to a level of someting going on in the dig thats unnoticed by others. i guess to really answer your question YES that does happen to me. I don't mean to itelectualize this but i have a very strong Christian belief about what is going on in this type of situation. I don't want to post anything here that would be preachy or in any way discount or dillute anybody elses belief system. So I guess i am reluctant in this forum to divulge to much info. I am not surprized to hear you are a poet I am among other things am a song writer. and like you sometimes I write things backwards but I thought that was just because I am lysdexic Ha Ha.
When i was a kid I learned to keep my mouth shut about things that i am sensitive about. It allways brought me a generous portion of verbal abuse and If I persisted a sound beating would follow. My parents were not to understanding about it. It's great to communicate with someone about this. I would like to hear more and share more about it but i am not sure if this is ok in this forum. If not perhaps we could find another public/ safe forum to communicate a little deeper on the subject and still maintain our anonimity. Please share your thoughts on the subject. jv63

jv63 & lewis,

Thanks for the response.

jv63, no biggie that you don't believe in reincarnation. As far as coming off "too preachy" about your own beliefs - actually, the "Liberation Brew" side of this forum actually supports this type of lively banter and discussion about religion and various beliefs sytems. You may want to check it out if you'd like.
