How can I convince myself that counseling might help me deal with my problems without the stigma of feeling like I am crazy?

You know depending on the counselor you see, you just might be crazier when the session is over, he he he, they will explain your denial of that fact. Just kidding. Counseling isn't like it used to be, this is one crazy world so who is to say any more if you do or don't need counseling. There are times in our lives when we truly do become confused, we have way to much information now a days, the families and social support well we are all pretty messed up, one way or another. they can help sort your thoughts out. You can post them here, what ever your situation is, give it a shot, and if you want to go, you really have nothing to loose. Sometimes we spend way to much time alone in our heads.

Yes. There are times we all do, dear. depends on what you want to pay for it. There is high-priced counseling, hit-and-miss counseling (see some of that here, in coffeehouses, bars, etc) or pay with your time at someone's feet (my favored MO.) Of course I haven't a lot of money, like Blondie and Molly, so I have got to get hit&miss or at the feet. -- I think we all develop mentore, friends, trusted advisors and most of them are free. The whole notion w/ counseling is that you find a way to touch what is deepest in you. Here in the West we do that w/ professional counselors or ministers. Other places they do it w/ spiritual focus and finding goddess-sent teachers. Hang-out here for awhile, listen to some of us 'closet-counselors,' 'frickin lunatics' and just the group. Basically this is group therapy and the main rule is: Only Pick up what's yours, leave the rest on the floor for whomever it belongs. In any case, welcome to the threads.
