Ok..this is a new week, new presidential week..new beginning.

Lets work hard at keeping our new healthy eating habits for life.

I am having my last bagel this morning. Think I better forgo a few things and eat more vegatables and meats and less processed food (just love the food at Trader Joes)

Camer----read the last entry on the previous diet thread.

Have a great day.

thanks 2B....and I am going to focus a lil more...from last week i had 3 bad overeating days, yets still lost 1 lb...the week b4 i have 5 bad days and lost 2 pounds...go figure..but I think with my body getting used to less food, always the 1st week the most weight comes off.

I am going to do this, i can feel it...

And yes, lets fill up on more veggies!! sounds like a plan..now i have to buy some!!

I am starting to feel better about this dieting thing...i shouldn't call it a diet, just "healthier living"...and if I can lose 1 pound a week, after 6 months, i will be a happy camper!!! i just need to keep the focus, and most important stay in my calorie range...sometimes its so hard, and I let food get the best of me...well not for today, I did excellent!!

Camer...looks like you and I are the only one left. Where's Billy and his support of our mission?

Yes..this is our new lifestyle. We have to eat healthy in order to get to our goal.

Today was pretty good for me..just had coffee and a bagel (my last one) for breakfast.

a banana for snack

nothing for lunch

for dinner had:

Sweet potato
Lamb chop
vegetables

I also had a couple of Spicy Spinach Pizza (just thin small pizzas) from trader joes.

yay!! 2b, I even "sneaked a peek on the scale 2day" and I am down 1 more lb.

I know I have to stop obsessing about the daily weigh ins...but i know from the past, when I didn't weigh my self weekly or every few days...I actually weighed myself say every 3 months........that's when the weight crept up on me. I swear I could gain 15 lbs in a year without even knowing. I know now that I need the scale and I need it to stay within a 5 lb range, and not letting the # just keep on climbing higher and higher.

I feel good today, can't wait for my long walk and healthy eating. I know i do feel better 2 when I see results on the scale even if its a pound a week...it makes me happy!

thanks for your support 2b, you the best!!!

I am so disappointed today...I have worked out so much...just this weekend I burned off almost 3000 cal with my hikes..I am keeping within 1500 cal and maybe on the day I hiked I went up to 2000..and and I am steadily gaining. Today there was another lb. I know that is the sodium...really need to cut back on processed food.

Good for you Camer...you are steadily losing.

I am going to try something different today. I no longer have bagels in the house..so have to find something else that is not processed. I am already drinking a lot of water..so thats ok there.

Well..lets see what happens today.

Have a great HEALTHY day today!

2B...don't get discouraged, my weight flucuates too, b4 my "time of the month" i gain about 5 lbs, then lose it thereafter, some nights i have extra water weight and bloating.

I find it best to weigh myself 1st thing in the morn, well actually, after i workout, but not eating yet...then i weigh myself, and my weight always seems lower, when i don't eat and then workout and then weigh myself.

Hope this helps, and you are doing great, burning a ton of calories, who knows, you could be gaining a bit of muscle mass and losing fat.

Hello to you all

Am still on my diet, just havent had time to pop by.

To be honest Im not counting caleries, or my weight.

Im just trying to focus on eating healthy, and drinking the water, and do exercise.

This is as much as I can do for the moment.

So that reminds me I shall go and drink the water now.

Good luck to you all.

No worries Camer...we are all allowed to "pig out" once in awhile..there are so many yummy stuff out there..and you have been consistently losing so that is ok..now back on track.

Welcome back Courage!!

I cut back on sodium yesterday and lost half a lb.

Today I dont do exercise..but I will eat less. I had my raisin bran with milk and banana and my coffee.

For lunch I will have my veggies with some turkey meatloaf.

I have learned about another enemy that lurks around in your diet...SODIUM...I always worried about sugar before but now my biggest threat is sodium...too much of it in one day and BANG!! 2 or 3 lbs extra. Having the hardest time losing and I think its because the processed food I sometimes eat. Never affected me before. I used to diet and get on 1200-1500 cal and I would lose 5 lbs...not anymore.

I thought I would join in here with ya'll - if you don't mind.

I just bought the book: The Food You Crave" by Ellie Krieger and have been pleased with the couple of recipes I have tried so far.

Does anyone else have this book?

Her take is that you can still eat comfort foods (like Mac N Cheese & Chicken Pot Pie etc) and just re-vamp/tweek them a little.

I haven't tried the mac & Cheese one yet, but according to some of the comments on amazon - appears to be pretty popular.

I've cut out all sodas and make tea with honey (try to buy local, raw honey when possible.)

I use a variety of green tea, some echinecea during the flu season and throw in a couple of mixed berry bags for good measure.

Every once in awhile I get a craving for ginger ale - so I indulge.

I went on line and found a recipe for blueberry muffins using whole wheat flour. came out pretty good. Threw in some walnuts and a few cranberries to boot!

The thing about Krieger's book is that you don't have to go without..."The Foods You Crave" - you can just re-vamp them.

Anyways - that's my start!

hello TBT!! wow, i have to check out that book!!

And yes, i don't believe in per say "dieting" just cutting back and eating a bit healthier...and still having a day during the week to eat "whatever"......that's why i like Weight Watchers, i can still eat my pizza, just not 4 slices!!! and still eat chocolate and my craving foods, just not so much of it.

thanks for posting here, and come back anytime........all is welcome!!

thanks for the book info too!!

Today I am going to focus on low sodium. Just had a good breakfast so that I can just eat veggies the rest of the day.

I am doing my pilates class today. Stretching is so good for you and the deep muscle exercises get your all toned up.

Camer- I no longer have to worry about the usual 5 lb. gain each month. I had a hysterectomy some years ago...but yes I used to gain those lbs every single month without fail..feel so good after the surgery.

Good luck and be healthy today!!!

hi everyone.......yesterday i indulged a lil' to much maybe 1800 calories, when i am trying to do my 1500 per day...its ok, cuz i plan on eating a bit less today. And today is
my "day off" from working out, i do this 1 day per week, and workout 6 days. Sooo happy this is the weekend, but i have tokeep tabs on myself cuz i tend to eat a bit more on weekends, but i am going to at least write everything down, and not go over my 1500 per day.

You are doing really good Camer..I wish I was losing but I am not..yesterday I cut way back on sodium..I was going to each some cottage cheese and when I saw the sodium content..I went without...it was 930m of salt for one cup..that is a lot of sodium for one cup. so cottage cheese is off my least.

Camer...are you counting calories or points?

Good luck this weekend..just work out a little bit more if you overeat.

And tonite, i am having only *1 slice of pizza* to fix my craving, yet i will enjoy every bite of it!

Well some of the women are on weight watchers. Which is about portion control. I think that is key whether you are on ww or not. I would say realized that you will jump off the path, but it will be ok as long as you get back on. jHave a cheat day. Just not too extreme.

Hi All,

Okay...I had a bad overeating day also. I don't even bother weighing myself. I just trust my clothes. Got back into my size 10s I wanted to, so I must be doing something right.

I have cut down on a lot of food and picked up the exercise regime.

Milk and Alochol are fatting. Didn't know that. It is true?

Congrats Z. Way to get into a 10. Good job.

I know alcohol is. Maybe milk if you drink too much. But dairy is in the triangle.

Yeah I though milk was good for you. I don't drink it that often.

Thanks. I need to get rid of the upper back fat, as I call it and the hips. Working on them.

Good thing I don't drink that much then.

Z
