A couple of weeks ago an old friend of mine (we studied in the same school and now in the same univerisity) told me that her roommate had left and she needed to find a new one. She asked me to move in with her and as she was good to me I agreed to leave my roommate and run the risk of a change. A week ago I moved to her room but since then everything in my life went wrong -- I don't sleep well, I don't eat well, I have troubles with health all the time. This passed on my friends, for I'm being very nervous recently. I don't want to go back to "my" room, because I don't feel it is my place. SHE lived there, HER things are everywhere. She lockes the door all the time, even staying indoors and knowing that I'll be back soon. I cannot switch to another room until the end of the semester. I miss my previous roommate but she lives with another girl now. I feel out of place. I don't have anybody to go to. I'm so depressed!

Take it from me, find a new roommate. I had the exact same experience last semester. My roomate's mother requested that we be roommates because we were such good friends. Needless to say, now we can't stand each other and I've cut off all contact with him. Living with him was pure hell! HE yelled at me all the time, he always had something smart to say, he went through my things, and I just patiently endured it. But, it got to the point where I began to suffer from mild depression and some friends of mine noticed the change over me. I didn't eat or sleep right and ended up having to take anti-depressants to become emotionally stable once more. Even now, I have recovered 3/4 of the way, but that 1/4 is still left to be dealt with. I'm saying all of this to say, don't stay if you don't like it, it will only mess up your college experiences. If you feel depressed now, it is probably the onset of mild depression. Get some over the counter ST. John's Wart and get out of it. Don't let it eat away at you. You'll be all right if you do that.

Yep - change it, and FAST! I lived with a girl who had been my best friend for 10 years and it turned out to be HELL. She slept with my boyfriend and then had him live with her (in my house!!!!!! ACK!). She broke my dishes, turned off the electricity, ate my food, stole my clothes, and blasted music when I tried to sleep or study. UG.

It really is true, you never really know someone until you live with them.

You can make it through tho'

Spending lots of time in the library may help your studies.

Ignore the idiot and make do as well as you can til you get moved.

And next time remember "the grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence"
