I'm new here, and could sure use some advice.
Fiance' was married for many years, before the divorce. One adult daughter, who's married now and trying to have kids of her own.I'll try to make a long story short.
Fiance' and I live together now. Ex-wife has been disruptive in our lives together.I don't believe she wants him back, just likes to meddle and stir things up.My problem comes when he sticks up for her, saying he feels sorry for her, because she's never been a happy person. She'll call and demand that he bring the token pawn(the dog)back and forth to her house. She does this when she wants to speak to him.Now she's coming to his family dinners, where I'm also invited. He can't understand why I would have a problem with that.He says he does all this for his daughters sake,to keep everyone happy. My problem is I don't know how to handle this gracefully.Any advice??

this is your future, this is your life, perhaps you might want to reconsider your choice, it will not change, and when she has the baby, expect to see the wife there too. Sorry, but in my observation with this dynamic, you will feel less and less , the ex- holds the power position, and you will always be that other woman, no matter what you do. At funerals, you will not be in the family viewing room, you will not be in the delivery room, you will not be at the head of the table for weddings, you will get lost in the crowd at graduations, there are only so many tickets, and the pawn thing with the dog, doesn't it make you wonder why they broke up????
