I think the only reason you struck a nerve is that this kid is someone I never like thinking of - he was mean and cruel.

Although, as an adult, I now know it was a coverup for his own insecurities.

I now know the kind of family and life he had at home - so I know that was the source of his bullying behaviour.

funny how you can see things clearer when you are an adult looking back.

I have friend that make the same stereotypical slurs too - and nobody is offended - and I wasn't offended. I just had a flashback that was unpleasant - and had nothing to do with the type of people it was intended to. The nerve you struck was more of an unpleasant memory than something racial.

Perhaps having a new environment will help heal you - sometimes starting over and starting fresh is good. sometimes it's best not to run, but stay and face it and learn to heal from it.

The whole situation with her was new, twists and turns I was never prepared for, but, after coming here after the fact, and realizing the situation and how I fed it only to make it worse....hind sight is everything now.

Giving finalization by doing this now is perhaps the most healing and creates what I believe at mindset in her head that she has to get herself together if she' ever to come back into my life. It will be very difficult shutting the door in her face when she comes a knocking. Words can't even come close.

been there - it was hard to make my ex stay away.

in the end, I had to do something "final" to piss him off enough not to come around.

i took my stuff back - not in the most legal way, but I got it.

pissed him off - he didn't come back.

I don't think this is going to be as easy. The electrical bonds between us are compelling, this road is still a long travel, this I know.

oh, the bonds with us were tight too.

but I hit him where it hurts.

I went to his house, while he was gone, and I took all the housewares I had given him to set up his new home - and I also took some of the "gifts" I had given him over the years.

He was FURIOUS about the gifts - cuz he LOVED the gifts - and even tho they were still new in the box and unused - this was the last straw for him.

I knew he was carrying on with another woman, and I left him a note stating I did...and that hit a nerve with him too.

In the end - I had to hit him where it hurt - and it hurt.

He tried to have me arrested, tried to get everyone against me - they all took my side.

He still CLAIMS to hate me - but I think there is something still burning there - he just won't admit it.
