Hey Shaney - I have one of those diet Rockstar energy drinks in the fridge - bought it a couple weeks ago, on a whim - I've been afraid to try it (I hate Red Bull)...think I'll break it out tonight and give it a spin!

Saw ex-hub yesterday (we work at the same place), he was amazed that I quit drinking for this long...made a comment about the liquor stores going out of business, etc. LOL! Stock in Franzia is rapidly dropping! He said it would be nice if I could get to the point where I could have one or two drinks on occasion...I agree, and I know that a rare few alcoholics are able to do that after a time..but right now, I am not going there. If I got back to how I was before, it would be the end of me. Not worth it.

BF's brother and sis-in-law came over last night and brought a cake for roommate's birthday (he's their cousin). They took him out for a while, and he did not appear to be drunk. Hmmm...wonder if they did an intervention. THAT would be a miracle...I mean, we're talking someone who drinks straight vodka (and lots of it) on a daily basis. Geez, what's happening here? I'll have to start walking around going, "This house is cleeeaaan!" LOL!

Anyway, glad it's Friday...Made BF a ham sandwich to bring to work for lunch...almost at the end now, which is good, cuz I bought the split pea soup mix for the ham bone. Weekend project.

Grocery store finally re-stocked Kaliber...I did actually buy them out of the stuff...so I have 12 for the weekend...ready to par-tay! In my own new and unique way.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Congrats on your 2 weeks. Don't you think it goes fast? I am close to my 6 month mark and it just flew by. You sort of get used to life without alcohol where you don't obsess with drinking anymore and kind of just live your life. I know when I was drinking, I couldn't wait to get out of work so I could get drunk. Now, I can't wait to get out of work, but I am not flying home and running out of my car to get the boxed wine anymore. It is nice not to be hungover anymore and remember every night that goes by. I feel free now. Like my deep dark secret of trying to hide drinking is gone now. Are you drinking a lot of different beverages now? I still drink a lot whether it be water, soda, or juice. I can't break that habit because I was so used to always having a glass of wine next to me. Nothing is wrong with drinking 15 glasses of water a day I hope. Now I need to go to watersanonymous. LOL!!! Hope you have a great day and I am so proud of you and your 2 weeks. Soon you will have your 6 months too. It is hardest in the beginning and in my opinion, it does get easier every day.

Love from Jewel

TWO WEEKS!!! I'm SO impressed... really. I was really really wanting this for you, D, and knew you could do it all along. This is great -

The rockstar tastes a little like redbull... sorry. The full throttle tastes better, I think. The sugar free ones are the best. I have two in my hand bag right now... my morning and mid-day fuel.

More ham, huh? I'll have to switch my stocks from franzia to honeybaked. I hope to hell that the sandwich you made H was on toasted bread.

Anyhoo - you have a ton of support, here and at home...

How about that AA meeting? Did you find one? I'm sure your dialogue will keep the people there, in total stitches!

Hi D-dog,

Congrats on the 2 weeks...I'm so proud of you.

Shaney...you took the words right out of my mouth (great minds think alike)....

Yes, how 'bout an AA meeting?

You ARE doing really great and I don't mean to be the wet blanket here but I would really like to see you try to get away from the "partying" mantality (sp?).

Talking about whether or not you will be able to drink in the future, buying "non" alcoholic beverages to appease yourself, joking about the roommate drinking, etc. etc.

And about the roomates drinking. Bear with me while I act motherly here.... Although a sense of humor is good....and necessary.... What that poor bastard is doing to himself is NOT funny. Drinking straight vodka on a daily basis the way you have described WILL kill him.

And this is the type of thing that I am talking about.

Like I said...I don't mean to be the wet blanket, nor do I think that everything has to be overly serious or that a sense of humor is not necessary. But on the same token...not taking it seriously could very well cost you in the end and I would hate to see that happen.

As always D...please know that I am only sharing my opinion out of concern for you.

Now...keep up the good work and maybe even check out one of those meetings.
