I am currently dating an Italia guy and he seemed know what he is feeling towards people. He has been telling me directly about his family values and the past.

He has mentioned that his dad was abusive and he has been through many things in his life. I wonder if he can pass this tramatic experience on his future children being abused?

Can you give me some ideas about the Italia culture? What are the pros and cons about Italia men?

The Italian man I have know have all been very very sexy and attractive but very traditional, to the point of being chauvanistic. The ones I have known have seen the women's role as being very much the homemaker...and the outside world as being the man's domain.

But I haven't really had much experience of younger Italian men. perhaps things have changed now

Of course, the person doesnt have to follow other italians but i am italian and most of the men i knew were dominant, jealous, pigheaded and yes, the woman served them. Just make sure you tellhim what you like. Some need retraining, some it doesnt work, it s up to you.

The Italians I met were not like this. There was quite strict division of labour along the gender lines - if they were able to afford it, but otherwise it was a matriarchy. Women were the decision makers, were controlling the finances and had the authority. Men, although were served meals and didn't do any housework seemed like mere additions to the women in their families.

It totally depends on the age or what generation they are from. Italians men and women have specific roles in the newer generation. Men are still seen as leaders BUT the women is vital and is treated that way. I was brought up in an Italain home. Both grandparents right off the boat. I don't think it is too fair to try to put a label on "Italain Men". I have one brother who his wife totally caters to him but he works his but off, and another who caters to his wife.

I think it depends on which country he belongs to. The Italians here in North America have been westernized that you can hardly distinguish them from other western men.

So it is not fair to stereotype Italians in the west and say they are chauvinists or machos or the like. People change once they settle down into another culutre that you can hardly distinguish them from the rest.

Granted some of them are like that, but they don't represent the majority of a nation.

Good luck SJ with you new date!!!

Culture is an important aspect of corporate relations. I recently spoke with a renowned educational psychologist who recommended reading this short essay https://unlocking-the-future.com/ The main idea is a working visit of a new teacher to the school. You must show your true face and willingness to work.
