I left my husband 12/01/00, after several years of abuse and two children.I filed under the national domestic violence act.my husband has alot of political pull and connections.despite all the evidence and witnesses, the courts have ignored the domestic violence and given him 48 hours a week unsupervised visitation and now he is taking me back to court for two whole months with the children and then asking that the courts alternate the children weekly there after.we go for final divorce september 10, and i just foud out he has a girlfriend and plans to be married. I know that he'll try and take the children by saying that he can offer the children a two parent home. What can I do, does anyone know any laws, acts, or amendments that can help me.this man has abused three wives that i can prove and they have tesified to in court, who can i contact to get the judges, police force questioned as to why they won't do anything to stop him?he hit me with our suburban april 14, injurying my leg and has yet to be arrested for that.help, he is a doctor and commisioned with the police force as coroner, he has told me on several occasions that he knows what shows up in autopsies and what doesn't. Help, i scared and don't know where to turn.I don't go anywhere or do anything because i don't know what he might do.

Lostnlonely,
If you will email me and tell me where you live I can send you information about services in your area. There might be a shelter nearby that offers free legal services... My address is [email protected].

I would go over everyone's head here and appeal to the Governor of your state. If that didn't work - call your Representative in Congress or your Senator. Time to get out the big guns. Stuff needs to be uncovered here if all this is going on. I'd be like a snake biting someone right in the butt and wouldn't stop until someone heard me either.

No. 1 - you need to record everything in a journal. Write down everything - time, date, what was said, done... Go back and reconstruct.

However, if it all looks gloomy and you feel like - it's all in vain...I do have a couple of numbers you can call regarding help. Email me - [email protected]

Sometimes, you can't fight people like this - but you can find peace for yourself....Evil is rather nasty when it touches many areas and you find yourself surrounded by it. It may be time - for you to just get out of the situation all the way around. Believe me....I know all about the "system" not working.... Jungle cats - wear badges and practice law and sit on benches just like anyone else.

Journal hell, you need a tap on your phone, illegal, but it can help to support your efforts. Spend the money and get those others in court to testify. Pull the court documents from the other divorces, and do the research, all of that is public record, and can be obtained. Have you filed the restraining orders? True that they are often worthless except for a paper trail, after all if he is a danger, why didn't you ? That is how a jury would look at it.
Did you file assault charges, and it was ignored, that must be a really small town. I have learned that if it is not evidenced it does not exist, so get the documentation you need, and don't mess around, no time to hide underthe blankets or worry about reputation,
