Where's the blog? I don't care if you messed up, D... I want to know how you are since then, but more importantly, what you're eating. :o) Just want to know that you're okay.

Hi guys!

Here I am! Haven't had a drink since Saturday. It wasn't a relapse, just a faux pas. I still enjoy being sober. Very much so.

I am off work now till Tuesday - yay! I have a hair appointment at 10:15 at "Hair Color Experts" near my house...next door to Target, actually, so I may hit the clearance racks after my appointment. When they do the summer clearance in Phoenix, we can still wear the stuff for another 2 months. Here it is, September 1, and it's going to be 100 degrees today.

I think I may do "the Lukas Rossi" with my hair - black with chunky platinum highlights. I feel like punking out for some reason.

Tonight I have been invited to my old work team's "closing party" - they are closing that office (which is why I transferred to the new one I'm at now). I miss those guys, so BF and I are going to go...of course it's a drinks party at Chevy's (mexican)...debating whether or not to have a margarita, or order a virgin one...another test, huh? Can I have a drink or two without getting drunk? Yeah, certainly around work people, but do I even want to bother with the whole buzz factor? Didn't enjoy it Saturday, can't see how it would be different now. I think I will shock everybody and stay on the proverbial wagon...funny, at our office Christmas gift exchange last year EVERYBODY on the team got fifths of vodka - LOL! See what I mean about our "industry"?

Seriously, though - is it possible for someone who has had a raging wine-every-night habit to be able to drink socially and not get drunk? I mean, I had no problem remaining sober after the Saturday thing, it was actually easier than the preceding weeks...is there any way that I might NOT be an alcoholic? I'm not trying to slip into denial, here...I am just wondering if that is physically possible. Has anyone ever done it? Had "the awareness" kick in, and learned to behave responsibly?

I have this thing in the back of my mind that perhaps I can summon super human powers and be able to do it. Lolli, I can see you shaking your head right now.

Why, why, why! God, I just want to be normal!

Anyway...gotta drive BF to work (we are car pooling to the "party" later)...will check in throughout the day.

Hi D-dog,

Yup, I'm shaking my head alright. I don't mean to make light of it but I see what is happening and, not that it's funny, but it gave me a giggle. For no other reason than I've been there.

Okay, what's happening? What's happening is that you are in the bargaining stage.

Lesson #1....people who don't have a problem with alcohol don't need to bargain...nor do they try.

D.... If drinking once and while is okay for you and it doesn't create problems for you...then who am I to say anything? Only you can decide what is right for you. Only you know if it is creating problems for you or not. Denying it isn't going to hurt me...it's going to hurt you. Judging from what I have read here...you have a problem. So does your b/f. Your roommate....has a serious problem that will probably, ultimately kill him if he doesn't get help. But again...this is something you have to decide for yourself.

I just want you to be happy and healthy and will support you in any way that I can.

Love,
Lolli
